About this deal

Tonight, I’ve only one chance to prove I’m fit to claim the title of Animancer—a master of souls. But my people won’t settle for a good performance. They demand excellence, and I’ll give them just that. By the end of the night, I’ll prove to them there will never be anyone better suited for the throne. PDF / EPUB File Name: All_the_Stars_and_Teeth_All_the_Stars_and_-_Adalyn_Grace.pdf, All_the_Stars_and_Teeth_All_the_Stars_and_-_Adalyn_Grace.epub I could call every reveal, every twist, every next step of the story. It follows the same formula as countless YA fantasies out there, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing! Father’s sigh makes his broad chest quiver. He must sense how badly I want this, because for the first time in my life he steps aside and offers me the helm. My free hand grips the smooth wood without missing a second, and I suppress a shudder at how it feels between my palms. Though the book describes Amora’s magic as soul magic, her magic actually has very little to do with the soul.

Bastian, a pirate who just happens to be around, just happens to access the deepest darkest dungeon for the most dangerous criminals on an impulse to save the princess. Without any magic or a plan, he helps Amora escape. As you do. i already loved these characters but now i adore them. if anyone would try to touch them i would just...shred them in pieces the way adalyn grace did with my heart. and now i want to scream thinking of these characters, yay!!!

See a Problem?

You know what I’m talking about. That feeling like a piece of your soul has been left behind because you know your time with these beloved characters is over. I appreciated the roles each of the characters played, they were the ones that truly carried the story.

She's been training all her life to wield Soul Magic - which allows her to control and destroy enemies of her country. I was rather apprehensive when going into All the Tides of Fate, as its predecessor, All the Stars and Teeth (AKA, one of my favorite reads of 2020), left me with SKY HIGH expectations. I was worried that, like so many other sequels out there, All the Tides of Fate would be a victim of the dreaded Book 2 Curse. But guess what? It totally wasn’t!

Did we miss something on diversity?

There was just too much confusing principles, I couldn’t nail down how it worked because the terms kept changing at every turn. Princess Amora turns 18 so faces a rite of passage where she must publicly kill a prisoner with magic. She does it at night, usually in secret as “benevolent” rulers do, and uses teeth, hence “all the stars and teeth”. Anyhoo, all the stars and teeth don’t save her, her magic gets out of control. She tortures the poor man to death then faces execution herself. Have you ever met people who are so full of themselves? Yes, confidence is a virtue. But arrogance isn't. When it comes to fiction, proud characters can be tolerable as long as they deserve to be that way. Katniss Everdeen is an example of this. She's generally a haughty girl, but you can't question her archery skills and capability to provide for her family.

You know they won’t tell you anything.” Though her voice is soft, the words feel like claws. “Not until after your performance.” In the process, she learns about unrest in her kingdom that her father seems unwilling to solve. When she meets Bastian, he gives her the excuse and the means to investigate for herself. I’m glad to see you’re confident,” Yuriel says between gooey bites of frosted fudge. “I’ll hold you to that.” She does have to ability to see man’s soul and determine if he is good or bad. That’s a nifty ability to be sure. Fierce and unrelenting... Do yourself a favor and get lost in this beautiful book!” —Tomi Adeyemi, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Children of Blood and Bone

Unfortunately, All the Tides of Fate was not as good as its predecessor. There is still some nice world building here. There is creativity with the magics, the island descriptions, and the Barracudas and Shanty are a nice touch. However, that's about where the good stuff ends. if there’s one thing i’ve learned today while reading the entirety of this book, it’s not to trust adalyn grace anymore. she can and will hurt your soul ‘till you can feel the pain in your bones. i am a puddle of emotions and tears. Another theory: I know another author was told to insert a kiss in book 1 of a trilogy. I always felt that kiss jarred, it was premature for the couple. I’m wondering if Grace’s editor told her that jumping into bed was too soon. Amora’s been sheltered and kept on her island by her father all her life, so as she takes to the seas with Bastian she gets to explore not only the beauty of her kingdom, but it’s ugliness as well. Her eyes are opened to the deep poverty and difficulty with which her kingdom is plagued.

Now, before I wrap this review up, can I please take a moment to express how glad I am that this series was written as a duology and not stretched out into a trilogy? Even though it absolutely tore my heart apart, the ending of All the Tides of Fate was absolutely PERFECT, and the story as a whole came to a very neat conclusion. So many series these days are unnecessarily long, which is why I’m happy that the author and publisher recognized that only two books were needed to tell this fantastic story. #DuologiesForTheWin

Every person—young and old—is out tonight. When the time comes for my performance, there will be no hiding from the eyes of Visidia. the ending though...how do i even begin??? oh yeah, let me keep it short: QZSERTYGUHJ. thank you for listening to my speech. First, let it be known that this is in no way a ‘bad book'. The writing was decent. The characters are likable. The plot is engaging enough. But I’ve definitely read this book before. Many, many times. And I’m sure you have too. Turquoise water stretches into the distance, stuffed full of blue tangs and schools of yellowtail snapper that flounder away from our ship and conceal themselves beneath thin layers of sea foam. Through the morning haze sits an outline of cloud-shrouded mountains that shape the kingdom’s northernmost island, Mornute. It’s one of the six islands I’ve not yet seen but will one day rule.
