About this deal

CALL OF DUTY: WARZONE is the hit free-to-play, free-for-everyone online experience developed by Infinity Ward and Raven Software that has dropped millions of players into the fictional world of Verdansk. Explore a massive battleground with up to 150 players, where you drop in, armour up, loot for rewards, and battle your way to the top. The game is available on PlayStation® 5, PlayStation® 4, the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and on PC. For all its inter-dimensional threats, monster hunts and magic powers, I’ve always thought The Witcher 3’s key achievement is in how it nails the mundane. Geralt’s fantasy world is one of mud, thatch and metal, his main quests are freelance work, and he loves a game of cards down the pub. That sense of reality is what helps you empathise with Geralt, understand the world, and really understand how bad things have gotten when the crazy shit starts popping off. An RPG with enough complexity to satisfy the urge to tinker, but enough character never to feel impersonal, Wild Hunt is a staggering achievement no matter how you look at it. Its story deftly balances cosmic threat and family drama, its choices feel truly meaningful and world-changingly effective, and it looks gorgeous in its own grubby way. Even its two DLC expansions are among the best ever released. Geralt’s final journey might be built on the mundane, but that makes it nothing short of magical. - Joe Skrebels (Read Our Review) 15. Halo 2 Dr Jo Twist OBE, Chair of the Games Committee at BAFTA, said: “In a year when games have been an invaluable way to stay socially connected and entertained for so many around the world, we are delighted to be working with EE to give the global community of games fans the chance to choose their favourite. The shortlisted games are all excellent contenders and I look forward to seeing which title the public choose to crown our first ever winner of the EE Game of the Year Award.” Both the original freeware version of Spelunky, and its 2008 HD remake are two of the most influential games of all time due to their monumental impact that shaped the entire roguelike genre. The HD remake was largely viewed as being a near perfect game, in particular. That is, until Spelunky 2 came along 12 years later and somehow managed to improve upon every single facet of its mechanics without ever sacrificing the procedurally generated magic that made Spelunky so special. Spelunky 2 is a game all about storytelling, only the stories told aren’t the ones the game scripts for you, they’re the ones you craft for yourself by exploring its constantly changing worlds, fighting against nearly impossible odds, with both the successes and the failures being equally memorable. - Mitchell Saltzman (Read Our Review) 74. Return of the Obra Dinn I do think that these results are a strong glimpse into how the VGA’s will turnout next month also.

gloom - so this is just a typical category that all platforms have to celebrate the best game of their specific system.Titles that are released after this date will be eligible for The Game Awards ceremony in 2024. (Similarly, games that were released on or after November 18, 2022 are first eligible for this year’s awards),” The Game Awards organisers continued. TOTK has a bad, poorly explained, even unexplained story with key elements missing. It is supposed to be a sequel yet acts as it's own game. Almost nothing in the game suggests to or refers to the events that happened in the last game. There is no explanation of why after already activating towers you now have to go reactivate some completely different new towers. Why is every tower not working? Princess Zelda is a dragon (of course they explain why, but....honestly, why)? No real in depth explanation of the Zonai. They just included them to include them. The graphics and game play barely updated. Even more vast areas full of complete nothingness. The entire underground seems as if it is just meant to waste your time and life away. The Yiga clan have even less connection to the story than last time. I can go on and on. Completing this game felt like a chore. Ganondorf had a cool updated version, sure. But what even was the point?

According to The Game Awards, “winners are determined by a blended vote between the voting jury (90%) and public fan voting (10%).” And if you’re curious as to why some games are (or aren’t) on the nominees list, The Game Awards reminds us that “games eligible for The Game Awards this year must be available for public consumption on or before Friday, November 17, 2023 at 9pm PT.” Dishonored 2’s wildly fun skillset is perfectly paired with its chaotic playground; tinkering with both means no two playthroughs will ever be the same. Bend Dishonored 2, try and break it, and you’ll be amazed and how deeply it caters to your most deranged experimentation. Like its predecessor, it’s also incredibly stylish, the Southern-European city of Karnaca bursting with ideas and history. Play it low-key, and Dishonored 2 is one of the best stealth games ever made. Play it high-chaos, and you’ll never settle for a mere gun in a first person video game again. - Lucy O’Brien (Read Our Review) 59. The Witness Zelda story (not cool to spoiler that in the comments buddy) I thought made sense. It cements her dedication to Link and Hyrule (and follows on from her established character traits in BOTW). So this makes her personal sacrifice heartbreaking - it also gives us one of the very best “acquiring the master sword” sequences in the entire franchises history.

God of War... it's impeccably acted, technically gorgeous, and well-designed in pretty much every way. I get why people would love it. But it's also too steeped in the design fundamentals of Sony's unique brand of prestige gaming for me to ever fully embrace it. I feel like I'm just along for the ride much of the time, and it sometimes gives me those "I'd really rather be a filmmaker" vibes I always get from Naughty Dog games. This game is a better bet for large groups because it still covers funny, pop-culture references, as well as raunchy, sexual, and explicit phrases that make a game like Cards Against Humanity so fun, without some of the more offensive jokes. If you’re not comfortable sharing an extremely dirty, insensitive joke with any of those people, you should refrain from playing. It scored well overall, but we found that as time went on, the plays became more predictable. DOOM changed my life. My gaming life, at least. Having spent my entire existence up to that point playing platformers, side-scrolling action games, etc. on 8- and 16-bit consoles, DOOM's first-person shooting was a jaw-dropping paradigm shift. Everything about DOOM was incredible. The graphics were colorful and convincing. Lightning was spooky. It felt like you were on a Martian moon. It's music was memorable. Weapon design was brilliant, and enemy design even more so. From the imps to the Cacodemons to the Cyberdemon, nearly every creature in DOOM was the stuff of nightmares – and in a then-unheard-of gameplay twist, they hated each other as much as they hated you. And then there was DeathMatch. Whether you were connecting two PCs with a serial cable for one-on-one action or throwing a LAN party where four people hauled their PCs to the same place (bulky CRT monitors and all!) to chainsaw each other in the game, DOOM DeathMatch changed everything. And, incredibly, it's still fun. - Ryan McCaffrey 28. Tetris

It just takes a few minutes to find out if a party game is great for a group. Since most party games are for large groups, the answer is yes most of the time. To make sure, you'll want to look at the game box or read an online description for that particular game. It should tell you the minimum and the maximum number of players for the game. Some party games don't have a set maximum number of players, making them perfect for a very large group.

When Tony Hawk Pro Skater came out, it was like nothing anyone had ever played before. It just felt so insanely intuitive, it had great music, it just felt… cool? There was not one demographic that wasn’t drawn into the cultural singularity of gaming and skateboarding like a rent-a-cop to a skate video shoot. Enter Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, an improvement upon the original in virtually every single way imaginable, the popularity of the game exploded in a way that could only have ended in steadily diminishing annual releases. Still, THPS2 remains the perfect skateboarding game. - Brendan Graeber (Read Our Review) 85. Monster Hunter: World Similar to the superlative selection process from your high school days, The Voting Game asks you to vote on the “most likely” candidates from your group.
