I found the plot to be well executed (little to no plot holes, appropriate pacing): ❌ - I didn’t feel that there were enough palpable character developing moments or intriguing plot points/twists to make me feel that there was impressing execution. Also, the plot took place over the course of about two weeks, which is understandable for the type of story that it is. Nevertheless, it made the story feel…small. this, unfortunately, isnt quite the great cathartic tearjerker that a person sometimes needs, buuuut it does have its charming moments.That is, until Jesse is found. He’s alive, and he’s been trying all these years to come home to her. With a husband and a fiancé, Emma has to now figure out who she is and what she wants, while trying to protect the ones she loves. Bryant is a talented, beautiful author with stories that touch to the very core of me. I will always be grateful for her books. I continue to be a mega fan of Bryant's work and am already excited to see what comes next! Recommended, obviously! What she and Sam have is different than what she and Jesse had, but it’s just as strong. She’s settled with Sam. She loves who she is with him and can see a future. They become engaged and things are looking up for them. Until she gets a phone call from a ghost- her long lost husband. It shakes her to her core.

now, i don't truly want to talk about the characters much but i'm just gonna say that taught me A LOT. and the way this was so beautifully emotional, i liked it. I like Taylor Jenkins Reid books a lot (or, okay, enjoy reading them more accurately), but I truly wonder at the evils of her dark and twisty mind. This is the kind of book I want my romances to be. This is the kind of book I want to get lost in forever. When her family embarks on a post-graduation Mediterranean cruise, her friend Tessa is sure Lenore’s in for a whirlwind romance. But Lenore knows that doesn’t happen to girls like her.Do you ever get over loss? Or do you just find a box within yourself, big enough to hold it? Do you just stuff it in there, push it down, and snap the lid on it? Do you just work, every day, to keep the box shut?" The message at the end was really beautiful. If I tell you what it is, that'll kind of give things away so I'll just let you discover it on your own. But the last few lines of the book brought happy tears to my eyes.
