Eine Besonderheit die natürlich auffällt, doch sie hat gelernt, damit umzugehen. Vor allem durch die liebevolle Fürsorge ihres Adoptivvaters Felix. Liebe und Toleranz haben eine hohe Priorität in seinem Leben und mit vielen kleinen Botschaften nehmen wir daran teil, wie er Stella immer wieder aufbaut, wenn sie ins Zweifeln kommt. Kieran: This is not my favourite book but it's in my top ten. It is funny every step of the way; you can't stop! Join junior explorers, Stella, Beanie, Shay and Ethan. It's all good at first but then they attempt to cross the bridge - Will they survive? Stella is such an upbeat protagonist, who loves the thrill of the chase and the feel of icy wind in her hair. She was found in this environment as a baby, and while on her adventure she uncovers a lot more about her past, as well as developing new relationships along the way. I liked all of her interactions with her fellow crew members, especially Beanie, who is so incredibly kind and loving but is often cast over by other people. Stella regularly speaks up for him, calling out anyone who speaks negatively about Beanie's behaviours and supposed eccentricities. She knows how wonderful Beanie is, and she just wants everyone else to see it too. Lo primero que me llamó la atención cuando estaba leyéndola es que Felix encontró a Stella en el País del hielo cuando ella tenía solo dos años y nadie sabe qué hacía allí. Lo otro es que podría considerarlo un libro feminista ya que Stella no se deja ningunear por su género sino que lucha para hacer valer sus derechos como chica y lo consigue. Además, de vez en cuando, su tía la venía a visitar y le decía que tenía que aprender cosas de chica y comportarse como tal, a lo cual Felix le decía que no, que esas cosas eran aburridas y que Stella no tenía porqué hacerlas.

Stella knew she would never find out what had happened to her or her biological family, but the frozen wilderness out there had been her home once and she wanted to see it again for herself. Brodie-Leigh: This book is full of cliff-hangers which make you want to read on. If you like books like 'Alice in Wonderland' you are sure to love this: the magic element draws you in and the adventure has you on the edge of your seat. This is a story full of friendship and love. I would definitely read read this again but the question still remains: will they return? En route vers l'inconnu, semé d'embûches, auprès de compagnons très dissemblables : Stella doit composer avec son cousin Dragigus, timide et maladroit, Shay, un valeureux chuchoteur de loups, et Ethan, un irascible magicien qui appartient au club concurrent du Calmar Géant. Forcément leurs différences serviront d'armes pour affronter les obstacles et enrichir leur équipe de bras cassés.

Stella longs to be an explorer too and, against the strict rules of the Explorers Club, Felix takes her on a trip to the Icelands; but it’s when she and three other children are separated from the grown-ups that the adventure really begins. Can Stella, Shay, Beanie and awful Ethan make discoveries, and make it home? The setting is magical, the cast of characters hugely appealing and the chain of adventures that befall them thrilling. This well-written, charming and imaginative adventure story is highly recommended. Beanie ist ebenfalls mit von der Partie. Ein sehr guter Freund von Stella, der sehr clever ist, von den anderen aber gerne schief angesehen wird, wegen seiner "besonderen Art". Naiv, würde man ihn vielleicht nennen, arglos, denn er glaubt an das, was er sieht und hört. Er lügt nicht und glaubt deshalb auch nicht, dass andere lügen. Versteht dabei aber auch schwer, wenn man ein Witz gemacht wird, oder Sarkasmus ... und sein ganzes Wesen wirkt auf viele absonderlich. Für Stella ist er einfach nur liebenswert, von Herzen treu und auf seine Weise ein absolut schlauer Kerl!
