About this deal

In Sword and Shield, you explore the Galar region, based on the United Kingdom, alongside rivals Hop, Bede and Marnie, with the aim to dethrone the Pokémon League Champion.

They'll be available here in two different colours, but over in Japan there are four - and now even more options to choose from! If you go to the in-game Options menu, you can choose “Casual Controls” to adjust the button mapping so it’s easier to play with a single Joy-Con. Three controllers are in the lineup, each one representing a starter Pokemon from Pokemon Sword and Shield.Just curious if people think Nintendo should drop it, it at least upgrade it to have a built in battery and charger to keep the Joy on going for Switch 2.

In addition to a brand new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Nintendo has announced a special edition Switch OLED based on the new entries. Funny how they only mention "don't include HD Rumble, NFC an IR camera or wireless functions", but what bugs me the more is gryo control, and they don't say a thing about the controller not having it, like if it was less important. the Switch's Joy-Con controllers match the main colour themes of Scarlet and Violet, while on the back, we've got a lovely design based on the game's new Starter Pokémon Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly.Designed with the ergonomics and layout of the classic Nintendo GameCube controller that gamers know and love, the original GameCube design has been improved with larger shoulder buttons and a D-pad, plus added left shoulder and system buttons for compatibility across all Nintendo Switch games! The dock itself is white in colour and will feature the two new legendary Pokémon, Koraidon and Miraidon.

These are officially licensed products, so they feature all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a Switch controller: motion controls and LEDs for the player number and low-battery warnings. Also, I wonder if this means BOTW2 is getting a special edition oled, because my wallet is going to hate me if there is one. In case you missed it, these Joy-Con-like controllers are a follow-up to Hori's Switch Split Pad Pro, and are officially releasing here in the west as the Switch Split Pad Compact. Unfortunately, they don't include motion controls, HD Rumble, NFC an IR camera or wireless functions.

I still have an Animal Crossing v2 Switch so I’m not upgrading until a more powerful system comes out… but this is really nice looking. Having no HD rumble is often annoying in games that use subtle rumble often though, so I mostly turn it off entirely then. As anything if I can get enough saved I collect this one as well now for funds that a different story.

If these were proper fully-featured Joy-Con, I would absolutely leap at these, but as they are, it’s a hard pass. I remember using Eevee back when Red and Blue came out and he just grew on me immediately and to this day no other Pokèmon has grown on me like Eevee has. I do have 1 kid who uses it occasionally but they mostly just use they Switched h in handheld and in over 2 years never bought any other controllers. I don't really have much need of them, have a Split Pad Pro and two and a half sets of Joycons (have an extra right one) with no one to really play with anyway, but that Pikachu and Mimikyu one is fairly tempting. Program two mappable Advanced Gaming Buttons on-the-fly, tilt your way through twists and turns with intuitive motion controls and enjoy hours of gaming with super-comfortable ergonomics.Play your favourite Power A Switch games with this officially licensed wireless pro-style PowerA Umbreon Switch Controller.
