I have to be honest; I wasn’t prepared for how beautiful the color was. After lining the outer rim of my lip, I decided to apply the product all over. For the remainder of my lips, I made sure to use a light hand. Once I was done with that, I rubbed my lips together, and the product glided with the movement to settle in place. By default, the result was a bit drying, but I gave it a pass because it’s a lip liner, after all. I put a clear gloss over the top and let my lips speak for themselves. Although the length of these is actually quite long, there’s no denying that this is expensive for a lip liner, especially when it’s a pencil. If you love MAC Spice but would like to find a more affordable dupe from a drugstore brand which is a fraction of the price, read on. Almost any time I would wear Spice, I would just apply one of the MAC Lipglass shades on top, either in Spice or Clear. And that, my friends, is true style in just two swipes – honestly.

When I applied MAC's Lip Pencil in Spice, I began by focusing on the outer rim of my lips. True to its name, the liner has a pencil tip, and I knew this would ensure the definition I was seeking. This type of liner is a little uncomfortable to work with, but the result always pays off. The pigmentation was there from the start–making the process seamless. This was a huge plus for me. With regular use, you will sharpen the pencil tip down to almost nothing. It can get pricey to use a high end lip liner like one from MAC, especially if you use it every day.Spice is described as some kind of cinnamon pink shade, and it’s definitely one of the best MAC lip liners I’ve ever laid eyes on.

Just blend out the edges cleanly, dab a little bit of Mehr all over your lips, and a tad on Spice, and you’re good to go. It also looks perfect with green eyeshadow on, to be fair.To this day, MAC Spice is still extremely popular and shot into the spotlight again fairly recently when Kylie Jenner was reported to use it to line her lips. I wore the lip liner throughout a warm spring day, and it did fairly well with food and drinks. I was impressed by how well the product stood in place and didn’t smudge. Unfortunately, the dryness of the product increased throughout the day. I tried to keep in mind that I did use lip liner outside of its purpose, so I continued putting gloss over top. If you plan on using this product on its own like I did, you might want to consider pairing it with a lip balm, lip gloss, or both. It is a warm tone and would work as a good nude lip liner for medium skin tones and darker skin tones.

I would avoid the mix on very dark skin tones, a) because Spice will start looking ashy (and I would then use Chestnut or Beet with Mehr instead of the Spice lip liner), and b) Mehr will start looking either too bright or too ashy if you want to create a healthy nude lip look.
