About this deal

Dragonology is the title of several books, a modeling kit, and a board game, among other things. The books were written by Doctor Ernest Drake, a Dragonologist (a scientist who studies dragons), and were written in the 1800s. The books are re-created for modern audiences by editor Dugald A Steer, with other contributors credited as Helen Ward ("Scientific Artist"), Douglas Carrel ("Chief Draughtsman"), Wayne Anderson ("Pictorial Artist"), and Nghiem Ta ("Artistic Direction"). Dragonology Wiki is an encyclopedia dedicated to the scientific study and conservation of that most rare and endangered of reptiles the dragon as set out by the books of the same name by Dr. Ernest Drake. Dragons have inhabited this planet for longer than humans and some are considerably more intelligent but over the last centuries their numbers have dwindled due to climate change, habitat destruction and direct cruelty to dragons. Wyrms (Ophiosuchia): Often called “snake dragons” and more rarely “scaly salamanders” due to their primitive-looking, newt/salamander like morphologies, wyrms aren’t particularly closely related to dragons and drakes despite a strong resemblance to some of the latter. Most notably, wyrms have a sprawling gait similar to that of most lizards, whereas all drakes have an erect gait similar to mammals with their limbs being positioned underneath their bodies. There are 287 known species in 7 families, making them the most speciose clade of the draconimorpha , and contrary to popular belief, all known wyrms possess legs, unlike snakes, but individuals often have a limb or two missing as a result of predation, intraspecific combat or both. Like snakes however, several species of wyrms are venomous, delivering venom via grooved teeth similar to those of Helodermatids (Gila monster & beaded lizards). Unlike Helodermatids but like snakes though, the venom glands as well as the venom-delivering teeth are located in the upper jaw, and while most species are considered harmless, a few do have venom powerful enough to fell a human.

A few elder specimens doggedly insist on speaking Latin, which is not spoken by humans any more, of course. Because it can live in areas that are quite different, the number of multilingual dragons is growing, and more common languages among them include English, Russian, and German. Almost all of these dragons can talk, and they enjoy doing it. A person who has been hypnotised by a dragon should be made to do a large number of complicated mathematical sums.
