About this deal

You want to remove the second-largest SIM card, also known as the micro SIM. Be careful not to accidentally punch out the smaller nano SIM instead.

All three devices also have two Ethernet ports, as well as antenna ports, and a fairly plain, mostly white design. We are aware of an issue affecting the 5G service of a small number of customers with a ZTE MC801A router. 4G service remains unaffected. We are working to fix the issue and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused to customers.” EE has the best signal in the village and the mask is line of sight from my house, less than a half a mile away but no 5g, only 4g. Below this, you can find the Zyxel NR5103E router with Three 5G Hub branding. It’s reasonably heavy and there isn’t much room to get a grip on the router inside the box, so be careful not to drop it when taking it out.The extra headroom on the new model could help future proof it so you’ll potentially be able to tap into greater speeds as Three’s 5G network improves, but right now this difference is unlikely to have much impact. Simultaneous connections If Three’s 5G home broadband isn’t yet available where you live, you might be offered a 4G home broadband plan on the 4G Hub or on the 4G Plus Hub. Alternatively, you might be able to get 4G mobile broadband on the 4G Plus MiFi. More Information DNA:n verkon testatessa saimme hieman enemmän nopeutta ja viivekin oli parhaimmillaan 8ms luokassa. One potential caveat with the MC801A is that it claims to only support up to 30 WiFi users at the same time, which is quite low, and we suspect it can probably cope with more. Credits to Aaron and Barry for highlighting the new kit to us. That’s great, but still a long way short of the theoretical maximum – though note that Three claims that its network tops out at 1Gbps with this device, so even at the top end, the hardware is capable of more than Three’s network will currently allow for.

If the map shows that you have good indoor and outdoor 5G signal, you can expect to get speeds of at least 100-200 Mbps, and even up to 500-700 Mbps as we achieved with our speed test results. changed the APN to three.co.uk - this one as i mentioned before seems to have made a slight difference so i will keep an eye on this. Overall, we rate the ZTE MC801A 4 out of 5. This is a fast 5G router, with great Wi-Fi signal, that is less expensive than many competing models. It comes with two gigabit Ethernet ports, and can support up to 30 simultaneous devices connected to the internet at once. The ZTE 5G Hub was a 5G home broadband router provided by Three in the UK. It allows all of your devices at home to get connected to the internet, including your laptops, tablets, mobile phones, smart TVs and other smart home devices.

Other ways to get online with 5G

As for the Vodafone GigaCube 5G, that has largely similar specs, including support for 64 simultaneous connections, but its theoretical speeds are lower – though still higher than any UK network can currently manage, so that’s not really a factor. If you don’t like the look of the Three 5G Hub, there are a few other home broadband routers that you could consider instead. If you’re after 5G home broadbandthen your options are limited at the time of writing – not many networks offer it, and they typically only offer one router each. Which also makes me think an external aerial on a pole might become a necessity whichever network I go on. These were tests of smartphones, but similar results would likely be found with 5G home broadband routers. You can read more about each network’s 5G speeds in our ‘how fast is 5G?’ guide. Plans

As for the dimensions, the Zyxel NR5103E comes in at 132.5 x 134 x 230mm, while the ZTE MC801A is 70 x 124 x 182mm. So the ZTE does have the advantage of being a significantly more compact device. Verdict Testijakson aikana ZTE pätki usein datayhteyttä 5G:n kanssa. Laite näytti olevan yhteydessä 5G-verkkoon, mutta dataliikenne ei silti kulkenut ollenkaan katkon aikana. Samaan tukiasemaan yhdistänyt OnePlus 8 toimi ongelmitta 5G-verkossa ZTE:n katkon aikana. The current Three 5G Hub is a rebranded Zyxel NR5103E, while the previous model was a ZTE MC801A, and below we’ve detailed the key differences between these two devices. Speed We live about 80 yards from the mast and coverage in our area shows 5g excellent indoor & out, we have an ZTE MC801A on software version BD_UKH3GMC801AV1.0.0B12 and currently -79 dBm signal strength ( i saw a comment from customer services on another post which said -100 is a good strength and would be the issue).

ZTE MC801A overview

The Three 5G Hub has just about all the features you’d expect and then some. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, along with Wi-Fi 6, it has two Ethernet ports for wired connections, and it also has antenna ports, so you can give it a signal boost if needed. Your latency will be a bit higher than with a fibre broadband connection, meaning you might lag a bit more when playing online games, although we had a very smooth experience overall, when using the supplied Ethernet cable.
