About this deal

When autumn arrives and its foliage ignites into a spectrum of warm tones, it’s easy to see why this show-stopping variety has earned its flaming moniker. Air layering is one of the easiest methods to propagate Fireglow Japanese Maple. Here’s how it works:

Appearance: It is a small deciduous tree that grows with a compact, rounded form. The branches are somewhat drooping, and the tree has a slow growth rate. Euphorbia amygdaloides var. robbiae: a low-growing Euphorbia plant (to 50cm) with a spreading habit which copes well with dry shade. Greenish yellow flowers rise from dark evergreen rosettes. Euphorbia amygdaloides var. Purpurea has deep purple leaves and stems, lime green flowers and can reach 1m. Both of these varieties hold their color well and do not burn in full sun. However, the color will not always be bright. In the shade, they will not be so saturated, and their color may even be reddish-green.

Leaves shape

Powdery Mildew: This fungal disease appears as a white powdery substance on the leaves, causing them to distort and curl. It’s more common in humid conditions. Prevention and Management: Regarded as one of the easiest and most reliable spurges, Euphorbia griffithii ‘Fireglow’ is a vigorous rhizomatous perennial noted for its showy orange-red flowers and red-tinged leaves. Emerging rich bronzy-red in spring, the foliage of narrow, lance-shaped leaves turns mid-green in summer before turning crimson red in the fall. Borne on upright, reddish stems, vivid orange bracts, held in umbel-like clusters, appear in early summer, and continue for many weeks. They are excellent for cutting. Euphorbia griffithii ‘Fireglow’ deserves a place in every garden with damp soil.

It’s important to avoid exposing it to intense afternoon sun or reflective sunlight, like near a white wall on the southern side. This helps protect its vibrant red leaves and overall health. Soil Japanese Acer are very prone to leaf scorch in both windy or excessively sunny positions. Red/Purple leaved varieties with green leaves or poor autumn colour may indicate insufficient light levels. Low maintenance, this plant needs little pruning. If pruning is necessary, prune during the dormant season and avoid pruning in spring when the sap is running. Fertilize in spring before the leaves emerge. The main difference between Fireglow Japanese Maple and Bloodgood Japanese Maple is the color of the leaves. Bloodgood Japanese Maple has much richer red and darker leaves than Fireglow. In addition, Bloodgood is twice as large as Fireglow Japanese Maple. Pot grown Acers are particularly vulnerable to winter frosts. Wrap your containers with fleece or bubble wrap. The Royal Horticultural Society granted Fireglow the prestigious Award of Garden Merit for its outstanding ornamental qualities as a garden or landscape plant. This honor is reserved for plants with superb floral display, hardiness, pest resistance, and excellent overall performance. Symbolism in Japanese Culture Another disadvantage of this variety is that many nurseries sell Atropurpureum Japanese Maple under the name Bloodgood, which causes confusion and misconceptions about this maple. Euphorbia Diamond Frost: is a tender perennial Euphorbia which is often grown as an annual for its tiny white flowers like slivers of ice. Useful for containers and hanging baskets.
