About this deal

Slimmed down ergonomic 3D hinges add a more streamlined look, while thicker loop wires with reinforced rubber dampers contribute to a solid build quality unsurpassed by others. Subsequently Jim took up the drums and by the late 1930’s he was teaching and playing professionally.

This dynamic compact speaker features three dedicated class D amplifiers that power its dual tweeters and subwoofer, for a sound that is nothing short of large. This is not a professional take on these headphones, I'm not an expert if it comes to sound quality or overall headphones, it's my personal overview of them after using them for over five years.

And as mentioned earlier, Marshall's own Mid Bluetooth headphones are also excellent, and are often on sale for less than the Major III Bluetooth. Slimmer than their predecessors, they have a really stylish look, and the ability to fold them down means they are great for travelling. I also tried to kill them (for fun) using a huge old-school amp with a 6mm jack, but no luck, they lived.Passive noise cancellation is never a strong point of on-ear headphones, but the Marshall Major IIIs are particularly disappointing in this regard. Audiophiles probably won’t rate the quality of the bass frequencies, but if you listen to a lot of guitar music, these might be the headphones for you.

On tracks with intense sub-bass content, like The Knife's "Silent Shout," the headphones deliver powerful bass depth. The little gold dots where the headband meets the cup spokes are based on Marshall’s iconic volume knobs – and, of course, there’s no missing that logo. I personally think these headphones are never intended to be listened to in a quiet room as a purist reference system but more as musicians’ monitor and for that purpose; the headphone does its job well enough. Furthermore, the isolation is good for this design of headphones, so you can rest assured you won’t be annoying the people around you with your music taste.Prior to my career in reviewing tech, I worked as an audio engineer—my love of recording audio eventually led me to writing about audio gear. View image in fullscreen The improved padding and lighter earcups still produce loud, clear sound that suits a wider variety of genres. Considering the brand is best known for its iconic amps, it makes sense that the design of the Marshall Major III Voice are reminiscent of amplifiers. Today I changed out the ripping cable with an original one straight from Marshall (unfortunately it does not have a microphone).
