About this deal

I have a PhD in Creative Writing and am a Senior Lecturer in the subject at University of Bristol, as well as teaching for the Arvon Foundation. Wesley is furious and Fergus is disgusted, so Grandpa and Choppy come up with a plan: a training weekend in the Highlands to help them bond. In 2012 at his home Olympic Games in London, Chris won his fifth and sixth gold medals- in the Keirin and Team Sprint. After their amazing win at the National Championships, Fergus and the rest of the Hercules' Hopefuls are keen to get back to training as a team - it was brilliant to lift the trophy alongside the Wallace's Winners, but now that Calamity Coogan and Minnie McLeod are back on form, the two teams want to go back to competing against each other rather than together. Sir Chris joins a crowded market for children’s cycling books but his celebrity status will almost certainly ensure the mainstream success of the Flying Fergus series.

This popular series of books, first published in 2016, is aimed at 5-8 year olds, when children often start cycling and reading independently. Chris Hoy, the most decorated Olympic cyclist of all time, has teamed up with renowned children’s author Joanna Nadin to create the Flying Fergus series of books. He meets the ever enthusiastic Princess Lily, has an amazing adventure bunny-hopping on his bike over the Swamp of Certain Death and outwitting the Knights of No-Nonsense and their Hounds of Horribleness, and lands back in the real world with a bump. The Hercules' Hopefuls are through to the next round of the cycling tournament; but there's a big problem. It’s good that Chris Hoy has written a book that inspires young kids that’s dream is to be a Olympic champion in cycling which Chris Hoy is today. But when Fergus escapes to Nevermore to see some friendly faces, it's no better there - Princess Lily is cross with her brother, and there's a bet on which cycling team will win that could see King Woebegot lose his kingdom.

Even though, I haven't read the other books yet, this is the book you need to read first to understand the "back. To start with Fergus was disappointed with his bike but his grandfather encouraged him and gave him confidence. My hope is that Flying Fergus excites and inspires children, opening their eyes to the freedom and adventures two wheels can offer with just a little hard work. He checked all the places where his usual presents would be but there was no new bike because his Mum said it was too dangerous and he could fall off. My six and half year old boy who wasn't much in to reading anything 6 months ago has really enjoyed this series.

I look forward to reading the next book with my two children (5 and 7 years old), once I have retrieved it from my 9 year old's bedroom! Heartwarming stories about the power of true friendship and sticking together when times are tough - with added magic and mayhem! Clare Elsom has cleverly made the comic style pictures appropriate for younger readers but still trendy and entertaining enough to appeal to 8 year olds. At Books2Door, we believe that reading is a fundamental skill that every child should have to help improve their vocabulary, grammar, and critical thinking skills. There’s the obligatory bad guys Wesley Wallace and Dermot Eggs with their Nevermore alter egos, Prince Waldorf and Dimmock, plus good guys Fergus’ Hercules’ Hopefuls team mates Minnie McLeod and Calamity Coogan.

She gets the team doing yoga and wheelbarrow races, and enters them in the Wreck-It Run, a charity race where everyone creates their own adapted bikes from parts and must compete in pairs. Chris won his first Olympic gold medal in Athens in 2004 and went on to win three gold medals at the Beijing Olympics. Mum and Jambo are distracted by their upcoming wedding, Grandpa and Choppy Wallace are having problems with the team's sponsor, who is demanding ludicrous things like banning the team from eating bananas and making them scoff biscuits instead. The goods do not need to be in their original packaging however in a sellable condition, and at your own cost and risk.

This is a series which is sure to become very popular with its entertaining balance of laughter, magical adventure and cycling! So when he gets a rusty second-hand bike for his ninth birthday he can’t help feeling a bit disappointed. It turns out to have a bit more to it than meets the eye and when the pedals spin backwards it gives Fergus the ability to travel to another world, Nevermore. Registered address: Unit 31, Vulcan House Business Centre, Vulcan Road, Leicester, LE5 3EF, United kingdom. It's not the flashy Sullivan Swift he'd longed for - but when it's all cleaned up and he takes it for a test run, he discovers something amazing. There's another mystery too - a rival newspaper keep getting exclusive cycling scoops, and unless the culprit selling secrets can be unmasked, Jambo's job is under threat and the wedding to Fergus's mum might have to be postponed. First in the series of children's fiction co-written by the cycling legend that is Sir Chris Hoy and Joanna Nadin.
