About this deal

I have loved the books I’ve read of Sue Watson and this one is no exception. And I’ll say the twists started for me from the beginning. I’m not sure if I read the synopsis or forgot it, but that was not the beginning I was expecting. I am spoiler free here, so you’ll just have to trust me to just go in blind and enjoy a few extra twists. Especially since the beginning is a little bit of a slow burn. The pace did slow a little in the middle, and the title didn't seem to fit with the plot I was reading...

Any issues with the book list you are seeing? Or is there an author or series we don’t have? Let me know! Overall, this was a fun reading experience with not so likeable characters (other than Alice's sister, Heather), psychological suspense, and a thrilling conclusion. I look forward to trying more of this author's books in the future! I was not disappointed….we find ourselves in the beautiful island of Corfu ( you can almost smell the lemon scented air in the breeze ) where Alice has ‘found’ herself after a harrowing time in Tesco’s ( saying no more on that ) and basically her life goes from bad to good to great to abysmal all in a short time….. I try to forget the urgent calls from my sister this morning, and how she doesn’t know I’m about to marry a man I have only known for a few months. His family seem a little off and he shuts down when I ask him about his past – but we’ve all got skeletons in the closet, right? Sue Watson was a journalist on national magazines and newspapers before becoming a TV producer with the BBC.Now a USA Today bestselling author, Sue explores the darker side of life, writing psychological thrillers with big twists. Sue would love to meet y Sue Watson was a TV Producer at the BBC until she wrote her first book and was hooked. After sending Bella a Christmas card for years with no response, a few years before I'd decided to add something more personal- one of Mum's recipes. I had included various Christmas recipes each year since, from gingerbread to chocolate and cranberry brownies- Bella's favorite as a child. I saw these as a reminder of the good times we'd shared and hoped she'd feel the same. Just writing down those recipes reminded me of Mum in her kitchen- the soft, wobbly fold of flour into butter, the grit of sugar, the heady fragrance of chocolate, sweet vanilla and the warmth of ginger.” Now a USA Today bestselling author, Sue has written eighteen novels, many have been translated into several languages. Sue is now exploring the darker side of life with her thrillers OUR LITTLE LIES, THE WOMAN NEXT DOOR, THE EMPTY NEST, THE SISTER-IN-LAW, FIRST DATE and her latest, THE FOREVER HOME. When I started reading this story, I was unsure. Alice has a vague memory of some events, while also alluding to historical trauma, so it was difficult for me to connect. However, after the halfway point, the story really started coming together for me and I really started wondering how everything was going to be resolved. And, as with the only other Sue Watson story I've read, 'The Nursery', the end is never really the end. Overall, a good read for all psychological thriller lovers.

Our servers are getting hit pretty hard right now. To continue shopping, enter the characters as they are shown I really enjoy reading Sue Watson books, I like her style of writing and how she draws you into the story, it's a case of never just one more chapter. As usual from the beginning I was totally engrossed in the story. Alice’s life is a bit if a mess, she has recently broken up with her husband and is also carrying the weight of not being able to conceive, something she desperately wanted with Dan.

Can I give this 10 stars? That's what it deserves!… This is why I read! For books like this!… LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this one!’ Goodreads reviewer ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I thought I had guessed the crux of the story but it turns out I was miles away in certain things and I LOVED that, a real surprise ending is always a great bonus to a fantatsic read….and that’s what this is, a real psychological/drama/family/relationship thriller of a book And by the time he finds out who I really am, it will be far too late. There's only room for one happily-ever-after on this wedding day, and I'm determined to make it mine... Working as a television producer, Stella Weston feels that she has been put out to pasture on a religious gardening programme. Dealing with an extremely nervous vicar along with his somewhat nymphomaniac wife, Stella feels that she is at a loose end with it all. Balancing both her home life and her professional one over the years, she feels that time is now right to quit her job and move on to new territory. This appears to be harder than she first expected though, as she attempts to make amends with the world around her, whilst also looking to the future. Can she really make the leap? Will she find her new life at home sufficiently rewarding? What will become of fat girls and fairy cakes? From the New York Times bestselling author of Pieces of Her and The Silent Wife, an electrifying standalone thriller.

Of course, he doesn’t know the true reason I moved to this beautiful island, or what happened to my ex-husband. I could not and still cannot believe some of the twists at the end. I think it's about the 80% mark where you just do not want to put this down. Ooh, this is a juicy one,' she said, biting seductively at a maraschino cherry she'd earlier described as 'divinely kitsch'. She swallowed the cherry whole, giggled girlishly and raised a flute of champagne. 'Why have cava when Champagne is sooo much more bubbly? Cheers!' she said, taking a large sip of vintage Krug.” Oh my goodness… My head is still spinning… Twist after twist, jaw-dropper after jaw-dropper, bombshell after bombshell… I didn’t know who to trust and it was all just so delicious!’ Goodreads reviewer ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Daniel X is closing in on his parents' killer. But in this thrilling adventure, danger-and the world's deadliest aliens-lurk in the shadows.Originally from Manchester, she now lives with her family in leafy Worcestershire where much of her day is spent writing – and procrastinating. Her hobby is eating cake while watching diet and exercise programmes from the sofa, a skill she’s perfected after many years of practice. What a stunning domestic thriller! What are the twists? Well, we can start with Alice’s fuzzy memory issues. Is alcohol the reason that her memory is so spotty or could it be something else entirely unrelated? These are questions that even the most attentive reader might ask while reading this latest book by Sue Watson. To say that I found myself surprised is an understatement. Then, when you factor in the way the book came to an end with those additional twists thrown in, let’s just say this book was another excellent read. However, if you have read other books of Sue Watson, you come to the conclusion that you should have taken time aside to read the book in one sitting....like a long weekend or a mini vacay. And so many red herring hints, that I was kept on my toes. I was sure I knew where this was going and alas I didn’t know. I was right on a few guesses and way, way off on others. This would come to fruition after she turned her hand to writing full-time, producing work in a style that was personal to her. Creating stories about real characters, she would establish worlds and narrative that were both witty and inventive in equal measure. Exploring all manner of story, she would write for a large audience, giving readers what they wanted, whilst creating something that was wholly authentic to her. Currently living in Worcestershire with her family, she continues to write to this present day, with a lot more to come yet.
