The bottom hair of each section feels slightly hard where some product has been put on it to keep the distinctive style in place. Instaglam Glo-up Girls Dolls have taken this last trend and brought out four different fashion dolls who come dressed in their PJs and go through a glamorous ‘Glow up’ makeover.

You can also take out the makeup palettes and swap them around so you can keep your favourite colour palette inside your favourite doll compact. The box and instructions both feature a step by step guide to opening the surprises that require water. This Sadie doll came dressed in bright coloured pyjamas with a unicorn sleep mask and her change of clothes was a similar coloured fancy dress, ready for going out out.This makes the eyebrows and eye makeup more defined and reveals some delicate blush on Sadie’s cheek. I really liked the concept of the doll and that she was dressed in fun colourful ‘age appropriate’ clothes that tween kids can relate to. Each InstaGlam doll includes a personalised glamourous gold stand to display the doll when playtime is finished. Something that we noticed from the get-go is when unboxing this doll, children will need some adult help as there are plenty of plastic ties that will need cutting, although we don’t feel this will distract from their unboxing experience as the accessories are pretty easy for them to unbox themselves.
Inside the other boxes and gifts, which have fun glittery packaging, you can unwrap her a brand new outfit including jeans, top, shoes, bag, bracelet and earrings to complete her transformation. You can also put her back in her PJs so once she has had her Glow Up, you will have a fashion doll with two outfits to play with. If you open up the doll’s head like a compact, inside you will find a mirror and a mini makeup palette including two eyeshadows and two lipglosses, and a mini lipstick. The fancy dress the kids unwrapped is tricky to get on and off the doll, as the material has holes in it so the dolls fingers kept getting stuck in it, so we can see if the kids aren’t careful it will easily end up with ripped sleeves in a few weeks, but once on it is super cute.We received Evie – a green and pink haired doll with silver hair accessories – and Luna – a blonde haired doll with red accessories – to review.

They each come with a stand with their name on it, which holds the doll upright in the packaging with removable keylocks. From my point of view, I have never been a huge fan of makeup on children, but she certainly does enjoy playing with it and these little Instaglam doll compacts are cute and age-appropriate. No matter which dolls you pick, you will always get a change of clothes, with Sadie we got a bright coloured dress.Although she still loves playing with her fashion dolls, it’s probably fair to say that my seven year old enjoys spending as much time as she’s allowed on YouTube watching videos of guinea pigs escaping from mazes, other children making slime or bathbombs (and a huge mess), and kids friendly hair and make up transformations. Dolls are a firm favourite with the kids and essential we think to much of their role play time, so we have many in the toy box to compare to. When Sadie has her toes and fingers dipped in ice-cold water, her nail polish turns from pale purple to dark purple.
