About this deal

The display of the Honor 50 is a 6.57-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. The maximum brightness reaches a good 722 cd/m², but only up to 527 cd/m² can be set without an active illumination sensor. Up to 933 cd/m² brightness is achieved in the APL50 test. The lowest adjustable brightness level is 3.68 cd/m², and the display's illumination reaches 97 percent. The Honor 50’s speakers are… okay. They sound a bit average for phone speakers, getting a bit tinny when turned to high volumes, but they’re suitable for phone calls and the like. Software The maximum temperature on the upper side is 34.7 °C / 94 F, compared to the average of 35 °C / 95 F, ranging from 21.9 to 56 °C for the class Smartphone. For further comparison, here are three images taken of the British Museum: the first with the main sensor without Night mode; the second with Night mode applied; and the third taken with the ultra-wide sensor without Night mode engaged. Sadly, in such conditions the image from the ultra-wide camera is frankly unusable. Honor 50 review | TechRadar

This is a 5G phone, and while it’s certainly not the cheapest mobile available with this next-gen connectivity, it’s still relatively affordable and could prove a good option for those looking for low-cost 5G. Along with the main sensor, Honor also includes an ultra-wide lens for added versatility. While it’s good to have, allowing you to capture far more with its 120-degree field view, it’s a significant downgrade in terms of resolution (at just 8 megapixels) – and I also experienced notable shutter lag with this lens. Taken with the Honor 50’s ultra-wide sensor variable refresh rate The display has a premium level of smoothness, but it can automatically adjust to save battery when necessary I mentioned previously that the design draws attention to the 108-megapixel camera, and having used it, I can hardly begrudge its boastfulness. This sensor is super-strong, performing well in a variety of different lighting conditions and delivering good levels of detail. Taken with the Honor 50’s main camera sensor Taken with the Honor 50’s main camera sensor Taken with the Honor 50’s main camera sensor The device measures 160 x 73.8 x 7.8mm and is quite light, weighing in at just 175g. The curved screen makes the device comfortable to hold in the hand, but the subtle angling at the sides of this phone minimizes accidental touches on the edge of the display. The easy-to-reach power button on the right edge is an added bonus.Jumping into high-end games, we could sometimes tell we weren’t playing on a top-end chipset. Now and then the phone displayed stutters or lags, particularly in busy moments, like when the phone had to simultaneously load multiple moving parts. As detailed in other sections, the software works hard to optimize the performance of this phone. We were dazzled by the animation complementing the 120Hz display. Additionally, we could actively prolong the phone’s battery life by attending to notifications warning us about power-intensive apps. But looks are one thing, and performance is another. There’s something a little bit… well, magic, about Magic UI. Pateikiamos kainos tam tikrais atvejais gali skirtis nuo parduotuvėje rodomų realių kainų. Kainos paskutinį kartą keitėsi: 2023-11-01 09:23 More worrying is the fact that the device doesn’t have an official IP rating, meaning that we have no idea how it would cope if caught out in a rain shower or dropped in water.

HONOR 50 - 108MP Ultra Clear Camera - HONOR UK

The main reason this smartphone is a big deal isn’t down to any of its impressive hardware specs, but rather the return of Google Mobile Services. The Honor 50 has a screen with good contrast and punchy colors, two really useful cameras (the 108MP main and 32MP selfie snappers), and an impressively long-lasting battery. It also feels comfortable in the hand, has a well-optimized user interface, and proved powerful enough for most of our gaming needs. Regrettably, it offers neither an SD card slot nor a 3.5mm headphone port. Some USB-C earphones are included in the box, but they’re of rather poor quality. Another point on sound is that there are dual speakers along the bottom edge of the phone, but nothing at the other end, leaving you short of a stereo experience when playing audio out loud. Nonetheless, the quality is fairly good. As mentioned, the main camera performs pretty well in low-light conditions, and we took some good snaps of fires and fireworks that weren’t as blown-out or obscured as similar images have been on other phones we’ve used.

Honor 50 Review: A lot to like | Trusted Reviews

Still, we found this problem occurred infrequently. It cropped up now and then in intensive firefights in Call of Duty: Mobile, but depending on what you play, you might not have any issues. We won’t mark the phone down for it, since the overall gaming performance was decent. Honor uses Microsoft's SwiftKey as the standard keyboard. It offers many customization options and is well suited for entering longer texts. The touchscreen responds quiet reliably. Extensive swipe movements are also possible on the screen without problems. The verification codes you've requested exceed the allowed limit. Please wait 30 minutes and try again. The Honor 50 can determine location with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and Beidou. With the "GPS Test" app, we could achieve an accuracy of up to 4 m outdoors.

The Honor 50 can establish mobile connections in GSM, 3G, LTE, and 5G networks. However, only two GSM and 3G bands are supported. The installed SoC supports LTE Cat. 18, which theoretically allows up to 1200 MBit/s for downlinking and a maximum of 225 MBit/s for uploading data. It’s a 6.57-inch OLED panel with a FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch input rate. The display curves at the edges and is broken up by a cut-out for the front camera at the center of the top edge. The Honor 50 is curiously similar in terms of design to the Huawei Nova 9, right down to the dimensions, weight and rear camera design. The companies may have divorced, but it’s apparent they’re not quite over each other just yet.
