About this deal

Because this box does have Castellan Crowe you probably just want one copy. Still, if you’re looking to start this is a great box as you’ll get the ability to build in many different directions. Just plan your list out all the way before you commit to a particular Grey Knight unit type.

The crisis deepens – Angron is loose , Vashtorr is scheming , and Abaddon’s Arks of Omen are voyaging to every corner of the galaxy in search of who knows what. The Imperium is scrambling to regain the upper hand, dispatching boarding parties in a last-ditch attempt to stop the Warmaster’s vile plans. Finally, the Death Guard heed Abaddon’s call, with an obdurate if slimy Boarding Patrol led by a Lord of Virulence. He’s joined by a bodyguard of three Deathshroud Terminators, as well as 10 versatile Plague Marines – three of which are taken from the much-sought-after Plague Marine Reinforcements set. Well, the value is pretty decent, but again, it comes down to whether you need the units inside. If you don’t need a single unit, the box value goes way down. However, if you need everything inside, you get the 10 Acolyte Hybrids for close to free! Now, the Ophydian Destroyers are where this Boarding Force gets interesting. You can have them ‘underground’ during deployment – meaning you don’t set up on the board at all until following movement phases and then have them pop out anywhere on the board – as long as it’s more than 9″ inches away from enemy models. This allows you to observe how the first round goes – and then you can deploy the Destroyers in strategic places, near unclaimed objectives or behind the enemy path if you want to drop in behind them and say ‘Hello there.’ Here’s the savings and value breakdown of the three new Warhammer 40k Boarding Patrol box sets for the Grey Knights, Necrons, and Tyranids from Arks of Omen!Bring the light of the Emperor to the void with Boarding Patrol: Adepta Sororitas, scouring the Arks of Omen with bolt, flame, and melta. A devout Canoness leads five Celestian Sacresants, 10 Sisters Repentia, and 10 Battle Sisters into the breach, making this a durable fighting force with plenty of power armour and some chainsword punch. This Boarding Patrol contains 17 models in total – one gunslinging Kelermorph inspires a team of 10 Acolyte Hybrids, who can also be built as Hybrid Metamorphs, while a hulking Abominant is joined by his little Mindwyrm Familiar friend, and five nearly-as-hulking Aberrants.

Ultimately, if you are an apostle of the Silent King, or just starting out with everyone’s favourite robot Egyptian skeletons, this is a great box to add to your collection. Trazyn would do it. Be like Trazyn.

Necrons Boarding Patrol contents and value

Whip through tangled corridors with three Ophydian Destroyers – frightening close combat fighters, supported by a Canoptek Plasmacyte. In their wake follow 10 Necron Warriors, armed with a selection of deadly gauss weaponry to flay the skin from living targets or blast apart enemy machinery, while 10 Lychguard provide even more melee ability, armed with either a hyperphase sword or warscythe – both units splitting neatly into squads of five for navigating tight passageways.

This box can be used to assemble a variety of units – the recommended build for Boarding Action games is 10 Necron Warriors, 10 Lychguard, three Ophydian Destroyers, and a Canoptek Plasmacyte.

Grey Knights Boarding Patrol Box

Jain Zar leading a relatively elite band of warriors is a scary proposition. This box is a good start for a new Aeldari force and it’s also a good one for Boarding Action games. The tight corridors will benefit the faster moving elements who want to get into close combat while the firepower from the Voidscarred can be surprising. Chaos Daemons have – appropriately, given the arrival of Angron – manifested as a huffing and slavering crash of Khornate nightmares. 10 Bloodletters and 10 Flesh Hounds are led by Khorne’s favourite hunter – Karanak, the Hound of Vengeance. In the cramped confines of a space hulk, these frenzied killers will close the distance between enemy guns with warp-flushed speed and savagery.

This box is alright because if you need Warriors and Genestealers you will probably save some cash with this! Grey Knights Boarding Patrol Box Boarding Actions are an exciting new way to play Warhammer 40,000, introduced in Arks of Omen: Abaddon – smaller forces clashing at close-quarters within immense voidships. We’re all mad for this new game mode – from Warhammer Community campaigns to stories, scenarios, and a battle report in White Dwarf 485 – and things are only going to heat up now that Arks of Omen: Angron has arrived, bringing extra faction rules, new missions, and additional terrain to explore. The box also includes three Scarab Swarms – but you can’t include them in the same Boarding Patrol as your Ophydians, so choose wisely.

Is the Necrons Boarding Patrol Worth It?

It's a bit of a shame that the Genestealers are still the older miniatures. It would have been nice to see them updated before getting a set like this. If the rumours are to be believed though, we'll be getting a new roster of Tyranid miniatures with the 10th Edition of Warhammer 40,00 this summer. The Drukhari box is also a perfect pairing with the rest of the combo-boxes and even itself. You could grab two or three of these and have a murder ball of wyches at your disposal. Just grab some transports and you’re off to the races! This is a good start for new players or anyone looking to try out what makes Drukhari unique. If you missed it, we look at the latest pricing and values of the new Warhammer 40k box sets, besides the Boarding Patrols, in separate posts below: This is hard-hitting force includes three Crisis Battlesuits and a squad of 10 Fire Warriors, who are perfectly suited for close-quarters combat when assembled as a Breacher Team. The battlesuits have numerous short-ranged weapon options, which offer great utility against many different enemy types in tight spaces.
