About this deal

Here at Sennheiser we use dynamic microphones for distortion measurements on loudspeakers at very high sound pressure levels. At Sennheiser we have measured the SPL and THD inside a large 2" driver/horn combination with a MD 421. The max SPL this combination was able to produce was 150 dB and the THD level recorded by a MD 421 was below 1% (produced by the driver not by the mic) Tried the momentum, was alright but preferred the HD25 ALU over it. Thanks for the suggestion though. Almost all the components on your headphones can be replaced and repaired if something goes wrong. This is one of the factors that add to the value you’re getting from the Sennheiser HD 25 in a standard audio environment.

I just pulled the trigger on the VK-1 yesterday so I will have a chance to do this comparison when they arrive. Perhaps it’s not the best idea to ABX them after reading what you put! Unlike other headphones that seem to work best with specific types of music like hip-hop or metal, the HD 25 remains true to its purpose with every genre. You may struggle a little with bass-heavy genres if you’re listening for pleasure alone. Listening options It really drove me nuts and I had to replace them. Since I was mad at Sennheiser I went with a different brand, at which time I learned that I really like a coiled, detachable cable with ONE connection point, and that I prefer over-ear cups to on-ear. The HD 25 PLUS is identical to the HD 25 (2016 model) but comes fully equipped witha 3m/1m coiled steel cable, a 1.5m straight steel cable, a handy storage pouch and a second set of ear pads in a soft velour version.i think the momentum might be a good choice if you are looking for a more relaxed sounding headphone that is comfortable to wear. i dont think i found a closed can with better comfort than the momentum so far. also the soundstage for a closed can is pretty good. Sure, these iconic DJ headphones are a bit low-key than the flashing LED headsets and neon-colored cans we’ve seen elsewhere on the market. However, they look professional enough that you shouldn’t worry too much. The strong clamping force is something of a double-edged sword, helping keep the headphones in place and external sound at bay effectively but causing aches after using the HD 25 for prolonged periods. As such, over-ear headphones would be a better choice for those planning epic listening sessions. if these came with the carrying case in the box, is there a Sennheiser part number for the case? (my standard HD-25’s like to come along with me, 🙂 )

It’s only after you use the HD 25 headset for a while that you discover just how amazing they are. The plastic really won’t break – no matter how much you bend or bash it. I will take the t51p over the hd25 anytime. It is technically better and sounds more fun to me. And comfort is akot better Rather out of the topic of the Sennheiser, how does the ATH-ES10 fare against the Beyerdynamic DT770 AE?? I’m looking for something to contrast my L2 for genres such as Hip-Hop instead of just buying a dark amplifier. I guess I understand your “more headphones = better” philosophy more now. There aren't many included accessories to talk about—the detachable cable is the only one the headphones ship with. It terminates in 3.5mm, so there is a ¼-inch adapter for pro-gear and stereo receivers. Aside from that, there's a soft, zip-up carrying case, and that's it. For the price, the HD 25 Aluminum seems a tad light on the accessories—an extra cable, perhaps one with phone controls so that this pair can be used easily with mobile devices and not just professional settings—would've been a nice touch. The earpads are removable and replaceable, but no extras ship with the headphones.

I recently bought HD 25, what do you consider to be the best DAC to my headphone. Normally i listen to my headphone through Macbook pro 2011 Sennheiser offers a range of “extras” that you can buy for your HD 25 headset, including extra foam disks for your earpads and cable clamping sets for DJs. Just imagine what would happen if Sennheiser released everything they have in their labs. In a way I would like to see more things, but then it would get crazy. Any effective review of the Sennheiser HD25 headphones usually starts with an overview of the incredible durability and build quality. Its worth noting that the Sennheiser HD-25 has been around for 30 years and part of the reason they are still so popular is the wide availability of replacement parts. Almost everything on these headphones is replaceable meaning that they are one of the true headphones that stand a chance of lasting you for the rest of your life. Conclusion The T51p is definitely not all-around. The HD25 is more all-around. But as per my other comment, try the DT1350 with T51p earpads – it’s the best of all these.

The sound produced by the HD 25 can best be described as lively. It’s a superbly open and accurate sound with a frequency range that starts at a wonderfully low 16Hz and goes all the way up to 22kHz. Unlike headphones designed for mixing, the HD 25 do not have a flat response thanks to a noticeable boost in the midrange that pushes the sound forward and gives it extra punch. The result is a superbly tight bass and a sound that feels much larger and more energetic than the compact drivers would suggest.Originally launched in 1988, the Sennheiser HD 25 have become a staple choice for DJs and audio professionals over the past 35 years. There have been a number of different iterations during that time, and the 2023 model is the most refined yet.
