About this deal

The scent smells rosy, *slightly* fruity and a bit powdery. People say it smells like baby powder - no. It smells like a floral/slightly fruity powder. The floral isn't white florals, it's delicious rose, specifically Turkish delight. If you've ever smelt rosewater with sugar, that is part of this fragrance. About a 5th of it. The rest is lychee, slightly vanilla, Oud, smokey, powdery. I love rose, but not like this. Even the 10 EUR Turkish rose water that I use as a second step in my evening skin care routine smells better. Unfortunately, the smell lasted all night and was so strong I could not fall asleep for hours. It won't wash off.

I love smoky dark roses and hate vanilla sweet scents so I was so hopeful for a good marriage of those notes to make an INTERESTING Rose in my collection. It's nice, don't get me wrong. This may have something to do with my skin chemistry because my skin AMPS UP any warm ambery comfy scent (hence why I am not a fan of vanillas or tonkas or caramels) while ignoring any sour or bright scents. I'm happy I got a sample to experience this scent. If you like roses, fruits and florals then you'll go crazy over this but the price tag still may stop you. Personally I don't feel that knee jerk reaction of "I NEED TO BUY THE BOTTLE" on this one.

My Account

Delina is youthful, beautiful with childlike wonder. I've heard people refer to Delina as a princess perfume, and I'm inclined to agree with that statement. Delina doesn't smell as high-end or luxurious as I expected it to be, but it is still a beautifully blended perfume. I'm confused as to why people think this is a mature or special occasion only perfume (although the price point does make it seem that way). I personally think this is great to wear every now and then, but only during the daytime and the warmer half of spring. I'm sure it would be too sweet and cloying during the peak heat of summer. I felt better because after my days of truly testing Delina E. I still wanted a perfume with a nice woody vanilla drydown. I got that in Guerlain Mon Guerlain of all things. They still know how to do vanilla, and MG has a wonderful sandalwood in the base.

Okay... This fragrance is crazily perfect to me. At first spray, you may think, " Oooh, that's nice!" At first you get the soft rose plus an added sweetness of lychee. While I simply cannot justify the price tag for this perfume at all, I must say that I enjoyed the experience I had with Delina Exclusif. I wore this on a really hot day and I didn't find it to be nauseating. It's a very creamy, sweet rose scent with lots of warmth and richness. It's very feminine and elegant. It lasted well over 12+ hours on my skin. By around hour 10 it faded by about half, but it still hung on for dear life for at least 8 more hours at a faint whisper. Which is what you want in a very expensive perfume. At some point, it reminded me of Rammstein Rosenrot Intense, maybe with less of a dramatic retro mood. Longevity is commendable, over 12 hours. Even the next day, I catch traces of it in my hair despite wearing another perfume.Absolutely gorgeous, and this is definitely a "love at first sniff" perfume for me. I recently tried the Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl perfume (a fragrance that is considered to be a dupe of this one) and while I see the similarities, Delina Exclusif destroys Very Good Girl. Very Good Girl is a good, more affordable option (so no hate), but I would not consider it to be a dupe of Delina Exclusif ... Not an exact one, that is. Delina Exclusif is a *beautiful* rosy confection. It smells like a freshly baked pie with rose jam, or something. That said, I don't think it ever gets to be too sweet. It's just the right amount of sweetness to go with the powdery florals of the dominant rose.

I would say that while OG Delina is probably suitable for all weather wear to a degree, Exclusif is better for the colder months and in the evening as it's an incredibly powerful scent.Family of: N/A the original you might love this if you love something like Narciso Rodriguez for Her edp

So! I got me a small sample (it's expensive, a'iight?) AND a dupe rollerball from Oil Perfumery. You know, to compare and contrast. Upon first spray it made me think of Light Blue by D&G. After a minute or two it turned into a sour sweet scent with rhubarb and litchi which I loved. This is the most princess fragrance I have every smelled. I only wear this for special occasions, it is very glamorous, chic, and does not smell like anything else. You can surely trace the Marly’s DNA there (like in all their fragrances, very distinct).

Okay, I was wrong about this. You have to put this on skin to truly judge. My male friend rated this one number 2 compared to MFK gentle fluidity gold. I’m smelling this musk and ooo I’m really liking it. This is a clean softer version of atomic rose by Initio. I didn’t like atomic rose by initio, and I’m not a fan of rose. It smells like expensive make up or skin care products to me. It’s giving me musk therapy by initio in the dry down for some reason. Let’s further see if I’m liking when I finish my sample. The first time I smelled this, I’m like huh? This is a musky rose. Nothing special for me. I asked my male friend, and he said “I can see why women like it, it’s kind of generic.” I agree with that observation. Definitely a nice girl, bridal perfume. This is not for women that want to smell slutty enough, or bold to me. Very stepford wife type, that keeps to herself & was a basic sorority girl in college. There’s nothing wrong with it, but it’s not for me. Kind of leans dare I say generic, and not daring enough. Maybe it’s because I smelled Very Good Girl by Carolina Herrera. Guess I’m still not a fan of rose as a note. I’ll see if I like my sample later, then I’ll edit my review. It's the perfect balance of sweet, floral, fresh, and slightly smokey. The incense adds a sexy layer to what would be a fresh fruity floral that I probably wouldn't have liked. The woods make it a bit earthy and there's a green element. It's got a bit of everything but it's blended so well that it just works. The vanilla isn't too obvious but it's there and adds a gorgeous sweet nuance. It's ultra feminine and the performance is absolutely amazing.
