The layout is the same for the most part with the manual shutter speed and exposure compensation dials, but a few buttons have been shifted around. The X-E2 is an excellent camera for people photos and for people who want a lightweight camera that performs as well or better than DSLRs for some kinds of use.

One of the nice touches from Fuji is the inclusion of their historic films in the form of a film simulation mode, and the simulations of Provia and Velvia etc. Manual focusing is activated by setting the focusing switch on the front of the camera to Manual and using the ring that encircles the lens to focus. Although I admire what they are doing, I'm more of the mindset to develop and process my own images. However, this feature is not something that I personally care about, because it only applies to JPEG images. What I love about the Fuji cameras, is the fact that the magnesium alloy shell is pretty thin, making them feel very light for their size. Therefore in the context of this article, the X-E2 is the only truly affordable "Leica M system replacement" option that I can come up with. This is good, because the X-E2 focuses so well most of the time that I forget that there is rarely something on which the X-E2 doesn't immediately grab focus. from what you wrote, I would be inclined to think you did not really understand my thoughts and the issues I am having.

Great highlight rendition; the Auto Dynamic Range feature really helps hold the highlights regardless of the conditions.The X-E2 can use LEICA and other brands of lenses cave-manually with a Lens Adapter, but I wouldn't use anything other than Fuji's XF lenses on my X-E2.

Autofocus is fast enough for subjects that hold still, but not as fast as a DSLR for tracking action. If activated, the focus-distance bar graph hides the bottom of your image, and the histogram covers more of your image.To make the camera less obtrusive there's a Silent menu option which turns off the speaker, flash, AF-assist lamp and most importantly the artificially-created shutter-release sound, instantly making the X-E2 perfectly suited to candid photography.
