About this deal

Conceived as a rackmount condensed into the size and interface of a pedal, the term "multi-effect pedal" barely begins to cover what the mS-70CDR is capable of. I just used whatever effects that were built into my amps, oh yeah I did have a cheap Wah Wah Pedal back in 1969. When you start to pair it with high-end pedals you start to notice the difference in output pretty fast. This also means that you can have the power of a huge pedal rig within one pedal, so you can travel from show to show with less gear to carry!

Doing this really maximises the versatility of the MultiStomp, and gives me an almost infinite tonal palette to work with. Choruses range from the pristine Mirage to the warbly Clone, and while the tones aren't quite as chewy as a good analogue chorus, the choice is staggering. Considering that Zoom released these pedals nearly ten years ago, at a time when the only, truly respected, digital pedals on the market were the large, high-end units from Strymon and Empress, the humble MultiStomp still managed to make a real name for itself as an incredibly reliable way of achieving a lot of the same, far more expensive sounds, on a budget. So, why getting one of these handy units instead of spending the same amount of money on just one effect? On top of all that, you also get a built-in tuner, a tap tempo function, a back-lit LCD screen, the potential for MIDI control via the micro USB input, as well as being able to run on AA batteries!

Effortlessly practical and condensed for any pedalboard, get extensive powerful sound with Zoom's multi-effects pedal! The latest pedal in Zoom's MultiStomp line does away with the MS-50G and MS-100BT's amp and overdrive models, and instead focuses its efforts on chorus, delay and reverb. In his free time, you'll find him making progressive instrumental rock under the nom de plume Maebe. Its powerful line-up of 86 diverse effects includes 16 chorus, 26 delay and 29 reverbs, including classic models from famous brands. There are some excellent instructional guides and tutorials on YouTube (I have a few myself, over on my channel: ‘ Pedal Experiments’) as well as a huge community on the r/zoommultistomp subreddit which is filled with useful information, resources, tips, mods, and a huge array of user-designed patches and emulations of other pedals (see below for some sound clips of the kind of patches that are available). After that you get one of these Boss sized pedals to experiment with different "extras" that you may not consider to be fundamental to what you are aiming at, without braking your bank account. Its stereo input jacks accept signal from passive and active guitars, as well as from line-level devices such as electronic keyboards and other effects processors, and its dual line-level output jacks enable you to record the MS-70CDR's many sounds in stereo. So far I've not had a problem hitting the target (you can tap either the stomp switch or an encoder–the encoder has been more accurate for me).

With exceptional navigation for selecting, rearranging and saving your favourite effects, use up to six effects at once and stack them to a preference that suits your sound, no matter how complex. There are a huge number of effects on-board, giving you the ability to stack and arrange up to six of them at once, in any number of different ways, and then edit and tweak them however you want. With the ability to power the MC-70CDR via a duo of AA batteries, you're enabled with supreme practicality even when you don't have a power socket. You get the basic pedals you need for your core sound/tone first [assuming you already know what you want].
