About this deal

The setting was a stroke of genius, it most probably helped that I know the Peak District (Castleton holds happy memories) so I felt that I was walking alongside them at times. Thank you to Bonnier UK Audio, Zaffre and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own. Ed feels a hidden shadow behind Ryan’s eyes and this makes him suspicious and it goes on and Ed had to pay a lot for his intuition including his job. But when a rich, handsome younger man enters daughter, Abbie’s, life and threatens to take her away from him, Ed finds his life spiralling out of control. Secrets and lies are exposed with every twist and turn but will Ed discover the truth about his daughter’s new boyfriend before it’s too late?”

Is this simply a case of an overprotective father or does the enigmatic Ryan really have something to hide? Is Ed looking for something that's not there or is Ryan so talented he's fooling everyone around him? Abbie, a young teacher meets Ryan, a mature man, 10 years her senior. They instantly fall in love. He's well educated, hard working and adores Abbie. He treats her well, respects her and is far superior to the usual low lives she dates- the perfect man for your daughter to marry- right? I live in Nottinghamshire with my wife and two children, and write in a cabin at the bottom of my garden. The ending wraps up all loose ends and while I didn’t like the ending too much (as in how it ended) I do think it was the right ending.

Ed Collier is reeling from the news: his 23-year-old daughter, Abbie, is marrying her boyfriend of just seven months. While Claire, Ed’s wife, is bubbling with happiness, Ed is wary. Ryan is almost a decade older than Abbie, and most of the relationship has been long distance. As much as Ed loves Abbie, he doesn’t understand why there’s this need to jump into a marriage. The author did an excellent job in keeping me on my toes, and uncertain if Ed was losing his grasp on reality or if Ryan was indeed not quite the catch everyone thought he was. This was an addictive read that I raced through.

A new boyfriend, a sudden engagement…and now rushing head-long into marriage!? Wait! This is all happening too fast!✋🛑 I'll admit, I was slightly terrified that it wouldn't match up to my expectations. The Holiday was and still is my no*1 read from last year and didn't think anything could match up BUT Oh My Days this was incredible. Throughout The Catch there was no point where I thought 'aha! I know what's going off here!' I couldn't fathom whether Ryan was a bad guy or whether Ed was losing the plot. I didn't know who, or even if there was a villain. Each character was as strong as the next. I loved Ed and at the same time I felt like he needed protecting himself. You do start questioning at around 2/3 of the way whether he actually needs professional help. When he shares his feeling to his wife she ignored by calling him as an overprotective father. He continued his investigation by himself to a time but when he come across lot more to dig he hand over the case to a secret agent .When he understand something secret over Ryan’s identity he is sharing again and it end up a clash with Claire .Abbey brings home her new fiancé Ryan to introduce him to the family, everyone immediately falls in love with the Charming, successful and handsome Ryan. Everyone that is, but Ed, Abbey’s Dad. Something about him just doesn’t seem right and Ed decides he needs to find out what that is before it’s too late when they get married in the next month:. However Ed is the only one that thinks that way. Is it all in his mind or is there really something fishy about him. He starts digging into Ryan’s past but what will he find out if anything and will it pull the family apart?

When Abbie introduces her father (ED) to her fiancé, Ryan; Ed instantly mistrusts Ryan. On the surface, Ryan seems like the perfect catch - he is successful, charming and handsome. But Ed can feel that something isn't quite right with the young man. I was born in Berkshire and grew up in Reading, the youngest of three boys and a fully-fledged bookworm from a very young age. I read history at Westfield College, part of the University of London, and went on to do a postgrad at Cardiff University. The Catch , my fourth book, tells the story of a father who becomes convinced his daughter is about to marry a man with terrible secrets. It has also been made into a four-part TV drama currently on Netflix and starring Jason Watkins, Poppy Gilbert, Aneurin Barnard and Cathy Belton.Abbie ended his life with Ed's knife (probably a way of saying Ed defeated him from his grave or Ryan took the souvenir… but it took him). The characters in this novel are realistic and appealing - all have their flaws, vulnerabilities and likeable points. I found 'The Catch' to have an orginal plot (even in the world of thrillers!) and to be well-paced. The Catch book ending then jumped to a year later when Claire and Abbie were laying flowers on Ed and his son’s graves. Ed’s body had been found on the moor, as had the bodies of Ryan’s first wife Lori, his foster mother Eileen and two other unidentified women. By this time Abbie had given birth to her and Ryan’s son and the final words of the book reveal that his eyes were, “His father’s eyes”. I enjoyed the characters in this but particularly Ed who is the ultimate helicopter dad. He was so endearing and clearly loves his daughter so much. His dark humour and obsessive behaviour made space for plenty of laughs and you would be forgiven for thinking that he is, in fact, just losing the plot as he doesn’t want to let go of his beloved daughter. Tim was born in Berkshire and studied in London and Cardiff before becoming a national newspaper journalist. He lives in Nottinghamshire with his wife and two children, and writes in a cabin at the bottom of his garden.

What is a father to do when he senses something is off about Ryan, his daughter’s fiancée? Everyone loves him, and thinks he's the perfect catch. But Ed knows better. His intuition tells him Ryan is dangerous. Should he act on it?The Curfew follows the events of a hot midsummer's night, when five teenagers go up to the woods to celebrate the end of exams, and only four come out... Executive producer Rachel Gesua added: “We’re over the moon to be bringing T.M. Logan’s edge of your seat domestic thriller to screen, which will take our audience on a rollercoaster ride of loyalties to our main character Ed, when his life begins to fall apart following the arrival of his daughter’s new boyfriend, Ryan. Put his job on the line just based on his gut instinct. Here's a tip: hire someone else from the get-go so that you can keep your job, get the dirt on Ryan and not attract the wrong attention. I honestly could not rate this any higher. Tim you have worked your magic again, I can't wait to read what's next!
