About this deal

Fable has spent the last few years abandoned on an island full of thieves and criminals after her father left her there (because she needed to "learn how to survive" apparently) and now that she can finally pay her passage off of the island, she is on a mission to find her father and claim her place by his side. She boards onto The Marigold where she meets a small crew of five young and secretive men and women. After years of barely surviving on her own, she slowly learns to trust again and even to make friends. Plot twist, of course, things are not that easy! Fable needs to prove her worth and find her place in this world of crime and piracy. I’d like to talk about the heroine at first: I loved Fable! She is favorite kind of heroine: tough, resilient, warrior, loyal, easy to care and resonate! But her father’s rivalries and the dangers of his trading enterprise have only multiplied since she last saw him, and Fable soon finds that West isn't who he seems. Together, they will have to survive more than the treacherous storms that haunt the Narrows if they're going to stay alive. In the end, if there was one thing this book had to say, it’d be that people are a whole being onto themselves, out of our control no matter what we do, and to care is to hand over your control, hand over reins with power over you, to those you care for and to all who would use them against you. And in this world, that is something to fear. For West or Saint, people carved from stone with an iron grip, that is the ultimate fear. Fablehouse is an inspiring story of identity, friendship and strength. Heather learns that there is nothing to be gained in running away – she can only help if she stays. Finding that place worth fighting for means everything to her. Children of today may not be battling faeries or uncovering Arthurian legend but many will see themselves in this story. A longing to find a place where we belong, a longing to be accepted for who we are, a longing to stop running and rest in love is universal and so very real in this story.

The characters were so complex, it was almost inevitable to fall for them but man...they made me cry so much. I am so in love with every word author Winters write...its so poetical and touches your heart. The confessions of their heart, their refusal, consciousness...it feels so real...more like a movie playing behind my eyes. Fablehouse is a gorgeously magical and heartfelt adventure in a richly detailed historical setting that more people need to know about. Concussed, confused, hurt and in serious need of medical help, Gemma doesn't know how to save Kassen, not only from the wounds she inflicted but also from the memories which trap him. Much more travel around Europe, perhaps with the possibility of living in a European city at some point? (Unlikely with Brexit, I know). I’d like to take the kids to the USA, I’d love to see the Grand Canyon.Welcome to a world made dangerous by the sea and by those who wish to profit from it. Where a young girl must find her place and her family while trying to survive in a world built for men." So I’m happy to report the latest offering from Adrienne Young, author of the Sky in the Deep duology, is an incredible adventure from beginning to end. I’m usually someone who struggles more with starting books than finishing them, but I fell right into Fable from the get-go. The title character, Fable, has been fending for herself for four years after being abandoned by her father without warning. She’s now seventeen and after surviving on Jeval, she’s ready to make her move to leave and seek out the only family she has left. She’s able to narrowly secure passage to the city of Ceros, but the crew Fable finds herself among on that journey end up being different than she’d expected. Fablehouse rescues these children and gives them a sense of worth , value and a permanent home, but they are confined to their home and grounds. Isolation is the key to their survival. Children will always be judged by their appearance, Miss Isolde, the head of the home, believes it is her duty to to let people see that all children are talented in many ways and they should be part of society.

Ond wrth i’r plant grwydro’r coetiroedd hynafol ger Fablehouse, maen nhw’n cyfarfod â Palamedes, Marchog Du o amser maith yn ôl: llys y Brenin Arthur. And of course, the writing. The book had poetic writing that captured me through and through. I couldn't stop reading, no matter how much I wanted to, at times. Explaining how her own life experience growing up has shaped this story, she said: “My mum is white and Jewish and I don’t know my dad, I’ve never known my dad. There are some truly heartbreaking sections in the book, but the Roamers are resilient and brave, and are determined to rid the world of the Fae and rescue all those who have been changed and captured. The author has personal experience of the care system, and this is clear throughout the novel as she gives the reader a wonderful insight into the lives of Heather, Lloyd, Arlene and Nat. It is easy for the reader to enter their world and empathise with them.I loved Heather soooooo much. She’s determined, fierce and an excellent friend. She showed me how she embraces her individuality and fights for her beliefs. She also has her own way on what and who to believe which is why she’s an excellent protagonist in this book. There are too many things to learn from her. It's been a while since I had a likable character and Heather did not disappoint me. The physical relationship between Gemma and Kas is still prominent: the hunger, the desperation they have for each other speak loud of deep feelings they are afraid to face. Beautiful second book in this series! I should've waited to read it. Book #3 will be out in two months and my bookalzheimer brain will have forgotten everything! Grrr!

She trespassed unknowing the danger lies ahead". Norry, 48, is a thrilling talent who, having been through the care system herself, brings heart and authenticity to this extraordinary kids adventure. Gemma finally has the one thing she has ever wanted. Freedom. But it came at the expense of the man she had grown to love. And now nothing would ever be the same. would the beast return and destroy her again? Or will she finally be able to escape, and continue living her hollow existence? It wasn’t uncommon for women to crew ships, but they were definitely outnumbered. And the softer you looked, the more likely you were to become prey.I didn't like the writing of this book. This was my first by Adrienne Young, but I think I will still give her another chance. It wasn’t uncommon for women to crew ships, but they were definitely outnumbered. And the softer you looked, the more likely you were to become prey."

No child will be forgotten on their watch. Heather and friends realise they have been specially chosen for this quest. The fractured Beauty & the Beast love saga continues, but I wasn’t prepared for the extremes of this emotional rollercoaster. Gem’s caring stirs crippling emotions in unstable Kas, as well as resurfacing horrific memories of his past at Fables. The sadistic depravity and cruelty of it gutted me as much as their conflicted intimacy. There’s more to learn about his “family” of others at the mansion that made him afraid to love and the reason he never left, but she’s more afraid to let go of trying to save him and reach his heart. Gem leans in, but Kas leans away. Despite her attempts to draw him out, he resists for her sake and hides his love to protect her from him in a beautifully twisted way. My heart shredded for them.
