About this deal

After “Pass the Courvoisier” Busta Rhimes’ hit, in 2012 the performer Jay-Z entered into a partnership with Bacardi to create his own brand of Cognac: D’Ussé. On the tongue, a clearer raisin note emerges alongside notes of lavender, jasmine, and a pinch of baking spice.

Cognac and Armagnac The 4 differences between Cognac and Armagnac

Armagnac is sold under several classifications, mostly referring to the age of the constituent brandies. Dartigalongue, Bas Armagnac, Hors d’Age, 40% ABV, 750 ml is a powerful, bold Armagnac that is several decades old.The technical storage or access is strictly necessary for the legitimate purpose of enabling the use of a specific service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user, or for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network. The Château is owned by the Boisseson family, Armagnac producers for more than 10 generations—this is the oldest family-owned producer in Armagnac. Delord 25 Year Old Bas-Armagnac is distilled from Ugni-Blanc, Baco, Folle-Blanche and Colombard grapes. Clés Des Ducs,or “The Keys of the Dukes,” is nestled in the heart of the Gers valley in the small village of Panjas, France. Very fruity on the nose with aromas of floral potpourri, stone and tropical fruits, along with candied orange zest, prune, milk chocolate and a bit of walnut.

Armagnac de Montal XO : The Whisky Exchange

Between the 15th and 17th centuries, Armagnac was traded on the markets of Saint-Sever, Mont-de-Marsan, and Aire-sur-l'Adour. It offers up notes of creme caramel and vanilla, along with cooked apple and stone fruit, especially apricot jam, golden raisin and prune. The differences in the use of the grape varieties in these two regions come from the fact that Armagnac produces wine intended for consumption without being distilled. The Château de Lacquy, 2007 Colombard, 48% ABV is a single barrel bottling made entirely from Colombard grapes.Pellehaut is a Tenareze producer owned by the Beraut family—they trace their roots in the region back four centuries. An amber-yellow colour with a powerful bouquet dominated by nuts (almonds) and quince jelly, with notes of dried flowers and a hint of coconut which will open up as the brandy breathes. Armin underlines that “they consider it to be their duty to preserve and look after Domaine Tariquet’s soils to pass them on to the next generation in the best conditions”. Hors d’Age, literally “ageless,” does not carry a specific aging period but is usually applied to brandies that have been aged for 20 years or more.

Armagnac’s For Brandy Lovers Everywhere 7 Stunning Armagnac’s For Brandy Lovers Everywhere

Moreish brandy-dipped orchard fruits on the opening with plenty of vanilla, apple, and pear mid-palate. But a maverick spirit and even a touch of rebelliousness seem to run in the Grassa family, who were the first to plant varieties that previously had been virtually unknown in the region such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. Salted caramel, sugared almonds and dark chocolate on the opening with dried prunes and dates mid-palate. It’s not as fruit-forward as some of the other liquids on our list, but has some bright and delicate cinnamon, vanilla and a little oak, a little chocolate and some toasted nuts. It’s also noticeably hotter on the tongue, though it’s still quite gentle, which helps to focus one’s attention on the bigger, brighter florals in the mix. Tight on the nose with notes of lavender and linen, it’s both floral and industrial in equal measures. There’s a bit of spice on the finish, which is otherwise youthful, fresh, and lively — albeit rather simplistic. Vintages flavour and appearance change depending on factors including the grape, ageing time, barrel used for ageing, grape variety, weather that year, storage location and more. The flagship blend marries eau de vie aged in French limousin oak casks for at least 12 years, resulting in beautiful lemon notes with a hint of caramel.
