About this deal

Overall, the innovative design combines the cleanliness of using a mop with the convenience and technology of a steam cleaner. It's a useful gadget to have, especially for those who struggle with washing the floors on a weekly basis. How well does it work?

PowerGlide Benefits

The water trigger is easy to use too, which meant we were able to deliver a controlled and wide spray of water to clean with. The design of the floor head is a little bulky but it's not too tall and the long handle flexes almost parallel to the floor, meaning it can reach under sofas and other low furniture with ease. It can be a little awkward to navigate around furniture or fragile decor though. An upgrade on the original, the Vax ONEPWR Glide 2 boosts power, ease of use and edge performance while maintaining many features that made the original so good. Simple controls on top let you select the mode (carpet or hard floor), and there’s a trigger to push out cleaning detergent when you want to use it, letting you control the amount of fluid: more for tough stains and less where the floor isn’t so dirty. When you finish, there’s a self-clean mode, so there’s not much cleaning up.

Hard floors look great but they can be time consuming to keep in the best shape. Well, unless you buy one of our recommended hard floor cleaners. Hard floors are where this cleaner excels, dealing with stubborn stains with ease, leaving a nice shiny floor at the end. Impressively, the CrossWave Cordless Max is also a decent vacuum cleaner in its own right, so there’s no need to clean up with a vacuum cleaner first; in fact, the only thing you’ll need a regular vacuum cleaner for is to get into tight gaps and for edge cleaning. The main cleaning head has a suction tube sandwiched between two soft rollers that rotate in opposing directions, but you can move the head in any direction you please, meaning it’s great at getting around awkward table legs and weird nooks. Unlike other hard floor cleaners, this doesn’t come with a wet clean or wash option, but it does have plenty of attachments. Vacuuming performance is just as impressive. There are a few minor complains: the software isn’t quite as flexible as some of the competition, and if you have carpets it can be fiddly working out how to clean them without getting them wet. We’d also avoid using the integrated voice assistant, as it’s hard to get it to understand. This model has dual spinning microfibre cloths that actually agitate and remove dirt. It does almost as a good a job at cleaning as a manual steam mop or floor cleaner, only with no actual effort. Used in a well-used kitchen, we found that we only needed to get out a manual floor cleaner every couple of weeks or so, and that was mostly to get right into the edges where the robot can’t reach. Arriving in a relatively small box, the AirCraft Powerglide requires some assembly to get it ready to go. First, you need to clip the extension pole into the cleaning unit and then the handle clips into the top. Once assembled, the handle and pole can be clipped upright, which enables the Powerglide to stand up unaided. When you’re looking for a tiled floor polishing machine, PowerGlide City is the best compact cleaning, buffing and polishing machine you can buy on the market. The stylish, matt-finish design weighs just 2.5kg, meaning it is super light, ultraportable, and a pleasure to use.
