About this deal

I pretty much love anything this author writes. She really takes the time to delve into her characters, in to this shared world so many are interconnected with. I love all the cameos/mentions, it must be exhausting trying to keep all of the characters and timeline in mind when writing new romances in the world. Kudos to her! Bea outdid herself once again with the Deana-Dhe. After enticing performances in the past, here they are with all her anger, fire and passion. The heat in book 2 is HOT and many developments occur. There are scenes of MM and MFM so if that is not your thing then skip ahead! Overall, the book was written well and the characters made you love the world. Her doing that for her father. Giving him that gift of kindness even when he doesn’t deserve that from her just shows how much of a truly good person she is.

Deana-dhe are twisted sociopaths and sexy as hell. They trade information for debts owed to them at a time of their choosing. We take a look at the early days of these debt traders. One thing to add is just like with Their Obsessionduet, Bea had me falling hard for one in particular that being Lorcan. I didn't expect the way that this story would go and I admit that what Cyn and Faith went through on the hands of The Skull Brotherhood was just tragic at best. And again, it made me stabby just thinking about Soren's character. I rooted for them to push through and cried for them at the end.Review: Book 2 is an epic conclusion to the Deana-Dhe duet and starts exactly where we leave in books 1. Book 2 is written 100% in real time with very little from the past. It is written in multiple POVs and brings in characters from prior series within the world Bea Paige has created. But nothing is ever that simple when it comes to us. True happiness only comes when you’re free. Free to love. Free to dance. Free to live. This is the sequel to Debts and Diamonds. It only makes sense if you’ve read that. And it makes the most sense if you’ve also read Academy of Stardom, and The Dancer and The Masks duet. Definitely another favourite here from Bea. The way the characters lives weave into the same world always gets me. I'm looking forward to seeing where Curses and Cures leads us. The first book had mild heat and got spicy at the end but I felt like that was what the group needed. I enjoyed the development and plots as they all found each other again. The ending left me hanging on for more and I was glad that Cyn’s secret were revealed!

Explore the societal pressure and cultural expectations that link diamonds to financial success and status Review: Dark and twisty with a side of magic. While not a typical fantasy romance, this duet has mystical ties and fantasy themes. The first book in the duet is written from multiple POVs and is split between chapters in the past and present. We see how the bonds formed between them at boarding school and up until present day. Our pain and hurt bled out with every movement, with every step across the dance floor. The Breakers never expected to love me again and I never believed we could get past our pain. Yet here we are. My Breakers are mine once more. At it’s core, this is a story of healing and transformation. Characters united by past pain and toxic emotional expression that find a way to overcome not only all of the really bad stuff that has happened to them, but they also and most IMPORTANTLY learn to overcome parts of themselves. The ways in which their trauma has disfigured their hearts and souls. This final story is all about two very crucial rescues that inspire that transformation- one of physical and mortal danger, and the other more a metaphysical and psychological one. And the most magical part of that process it that Cyn is their savior in BOTH. Her strength, her resilience, her resolve are the beating heart and soul of this story. She loves SO big and freely ,and her vulnerable strength and cleverness shines so brightly. But we should have known that Cyn would never give up- she’s always been a battered and bruised character, but never BROKEN. But Bea sure did push the limits with her- and perhaps she does in fact break. And my heart broke with her- tears for the harrowing things she experiences. But Cyn survives like a Phoenix in the ashes, emerging stronger, more clear, and most of all, better loved. The Deana-Dhe- how Bea transformed them from depraved anti-heroes into the most swoony protectors and lovers, I don't even know- but she did, and I am so madly in love with them now.

Reviews

I mention this in every review but idc, Bea's writing is beautiful, she is one of the few authors whose writing can captivate me so thoroughly with every book of hers I read! She makes me feel so much emotion while I read and I love that she consistently prioritizes her characters making emotional progress before any spice comes along, it makes the spicy scenes feel so much more significant and intimate and unsurprisingly I loved it in this book too! The Deana-Dhe transition beautifully into leading anti-heroes. Bea somehow maintains their air of mystery and menacing aura while also humanizing them. She gives them substance, differentiates each, and layers dimension on dimension. They are certainly worthy of a full story- easily stepping out of the shadows. But Cyn is the star- I loved how Bea gives her a quiet and vulnerable strength. She’s clever, gently coercive, and enchanting. And her muteness adds an interesting layer to her connection to the men, empowering her allure and protecting her secrets. In the present-day chapters, they’re all around 23/24. Cyn owes them a debt for finding the identity of her mom's murderer, and the guys have come to collect. They've brought her to their home (they live on their own island in a spooky old monastery) to make Diamonds for them (a special drug). But as the present day timeline unfolds, it becomes clear that Cyn has her own agenda and secrets. So once again, she has the upper hand, even though it initially seems like the guys hold all the power. The world can be an ugly place- fictional or otherwise, and these characters are no stranger to it. In fact, some have contributed to it. What I’ve always found so compelling about Bea’s writing is how she never shies away from that architecture- building worlds and stories that embrace not only the grey all around us but the grey within. Pain, trauma, despair, hopelessness- it’s as much a part of our humanity as breathing. But though it all the light is ALWAYS love. Love heals, love inspires, love fulfills, love hopes. And love can transform- take the worst of us and help us find the best, EVEN in the darkness. Even in the pain. And the Deana-dhe are tragically beautiful reminder that destination can outweigh the journey, that LOVE is stronger than the worst we can face- and it’s always worth the fight. It’s worth LIVING for. And if we LIVE with love…well, Cras es noster…Tomorrow is ours.

The 3 boys are very damaged. They don’t trust Cyn at all and don’t give the girl a break. But she outsmarts then many times, including when it comes to a secret or two. Cyn trying to protect all the girls that Soren has taken is so brave and courageous of her especially knowing that her actions will have horrible consequences. Cyn making that to give her and the guys the best chances to make it out of the skull brotherhood alive was genius

Success

More guy on guy action overall than her and her harem. I’m not against the gog action, I love it when done well, but so much was made throughout book about how she was the key to them all and how their lust was all about her yet for many years they had sex together all the time and shared women together also just fine without her. 🤷🏼‍♀️ We’re the Deana-dhe. Brothers in arms, purveyors of truths and lies, dealers and debts. Legends. We’re also human. We’re men who hate, who hurt, who bleed. We’re men who love.” I already loved Cyn from the first book but this cemented her as my favorite heroine ever! She is so brave and selfless. Not overly bold and brash but quite and calm and underestimated by most. She is grace personified and a pure light that couldn't be snuffed out in even the darkest of conditions. She was a quiet and calm character that so often goes unnoticed and I was happy to see that type of personality represented.

Additionally, the resale market for diamonds can be challenging. Unlike other luxury items such as designer handbags or watches, diamonds are not as easily resold. The demand for diamonds can fluctuate, and finding a buyer who is willing to pay a fair price for your diamond can be difficult. This can result in a loss of value when trying to sell your diamond, further decreasing the potential financial return on your investment. The Deana-dhe deal in favors, and Cyn owns them. And that’s how she ends up in their secluded island, developing a new potent drug for them.

I love the ambience of this book, it’s very British, with all the grey skies, rain, secluded island and cold beach. And it’s perfectly mixed with years of family drama and a little bit of magic: not only Cyn’s gifts challenge science, Arden has visions of the future and the 4 of them are tied by more than story, by a true soul bond none of them can escape. And boy, do they try. Cyn is easy to root for, filled with quiet strength. Everyone underestimates the mute girl, and she uses that to her advantage. I enjoyed the power play between them.
