Carefully remove the thin metal retaining ring on the dpad (see 10:38 in the video) THIS RING IS THE PROBLEM Remove the controller faceplate. You'll need an ifixit kit or something similar. This took me a while, be patient and careful. Follow any teardown guide on youtube, this one helped me the most
