About this deal

But I expect it to be better versus the common wrong behaviour of sim pilots of controlling the elevator via trim inputs instead of yoke movements. Trim should be only used to cancel the forces on the yoke, not for actually controlling the plane. There is a problem with the AutoPilot, where the NAV button activates the LOC button in the aircraft and REV button activates the LNAV button in the aircraft. I'll try to fix it, but might need some help. Pop off the cap that covers the yoke mounting flange, remove the two screws, and put the yoke aside. On the other hand, try finding one in its price range that's as good. I'm waiting on the Alpha upgrade to release from Honeycomb, then I'll get a set from them.

Pre-set buttons are mixed bag. All seem to constantly fire their state so if mapped to a button that is repeatable I believe you would get constant inputs I am having problems I have followed your instructions but nothing. I don't even have the Honeycomb under Addon's any suggestion why that is

Microsoft Flight Simulator: Standard Edition (Xbox) Pre-Order

unfortunately I didn't have the BBJ expansion while creating the profiles, so I cannot really comment on what might be causing this. Just to be sure: you are talking only the Alpha Yoke, not in conjunction with the Bravo Throttle right? For players interested in piloting with keyboards, look no further than the Razer Turret for Xbox. The Razer Turret for Xbox includes Razer Mechanical Switches, featuring optimized actuation and reset points. Every command is executed with super-fast responsiveness and precision. It’s also paired with a built-in mouse and mat, sporting the acclaimed Razer 5G Advanced Optical Sensor delivering industry-leading speed and accuracy. and light switches, as well as a 5-position ignition switch. The left and right handles feature one

ALPHA FLIGHT CONTROLS XPC – Honeycomb Aeronautical

Dunno what you mean by 'range', but the Alpha XPC has 10-bit sensors. That brings the resolution up to Saitek standards 😉 Hey, you are the only other person I know that uses (used) the X45. That is what I am using now. I have just started to notice some noise in the rudder paddle. I have some questions if you don't mind: Millions of gamers worldwide trust Turtle Beach to deliver game-changing peripherals and audio innovations. Now, Turtle Beach enters the simulation category with the Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flight for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Developed by world-class aeronautical engineers and pilots, the Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flight is a complete, inclusive flight control system for Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC, offering intuitive and realistic controls to equip all players with the ability to experience the thrill of flight. The motor is driving the rotating screw which moves the point of bungee attachment - simple and clever. Finally received my HC Bravo yesterday and its glorious, but the laborious task of keybinding is upon us. Microsoft Flight Simulator's expansion to consoles has spawned new Xbox-compatible accessories, including the all-inclusive VelocityOne Flight system from Turtle Beach. While better known for gaming headsets, the manufacturer recently debuted its first Flight Simulator-ready accessory, primed for Xbox consoles and Windows PCs. The accompanying throttle quadrant throws more inputs in the mix, from throttle levels to vernier controls, plus a dedicated trim wheel. There's also a status panel with various switches and LEDs, all tied to the game. While the throttle doesn't feel as refined as the yoke, it's impeccable in terms of function. Not all pots are created equal. Some will last many years. I've got a pro-grade radio audio board with pots that was made in the 70s and used daily at a radio station until the late 90s and the pots still work perfectly. Others, like the pot on the twist axis of my Thrustmaster, won't even make it 9 months. AFAIK Honeycomb is using quality pots (though probably not the quality you found on old professional broadcast equipment), but as long as a better option is close to market I'll wait. Save a few more months and invest in a Fulcrum instead, it is a smarter investment in the long run, HoneyComb is good value for the money, but it is still a plastic toy.

Should I wait for the new version of the honeycomb alpha? It has spring loaded key ignition, new form factor, xbox compatibility. I'm not sure if I should go for the original alpha or wait for the xtc model. What do you guys think? Pre-set buttons are mixed bag. All seem to constantly fire their state so if mapped to a button that is repeatable I believe you would get constant inputs. That being said they are labeled for binary functions already and work great for those in nearly every aircraft.Honeycomb is the latest on the scene with its Alpha Flight Controls yoke — and it's already our preferred flight accessory. It refines upon the foundations of popular yokes, both functional and well-built, while still attaining an accessible price tag. The yoke handles smoothly, is also substantial in hand, and its integrated switch panel extends its worth far beyond roll and pitch control. Agreed. Even high quality pots get noisy over time. That's what finally killed my old Saitek X45, which I still miss. The throttle axis pot got so noisy that I could only control 0-20%, and then 80-100% throttle. Anything in between was fairly unpredictable as to what input it would send, and even the "good" areas were twitchy. Made landings kinda challenging, but not in a good way. 😉 For something like that you’re probably going to go searching for a machine shop that will do small one-off jobs. Could get pricey unless you know someone who can do you a favour. I wouldn’t call it a “huge disappointment” but I do know what you mean. Some of the design decisions Honeycomb made seem questionable. I tend to tinker with and modify my stuff anyways so I didn’t mind getting in there and changing the bungee but I do agree that the stiff pitch was an issue that should have been dealt with right at the start. Cost, I'd imagine. There's nothing inherently wrong with pots except that they rely on a direct electrical connection between the moving part and the stationary part. Eventually that will get dirty or worn, and that's when you start to get jitter in the control. Hall effect is a proximity sensor so it's a lot harder to wear them out.
