About this deal

If you already own a compact camera, DSLR, mirrorless, or webcam, you might not even need a camera in your kit.

Kids as young as 5 can assist in the assembly, while older kids can do some of the more difficult tasks - a great family project. Using LEGO Technic, this machine video admits that it sometimes takes multiple tries to get it right. I like the use of so many elements in this one. However, I included it because they talk about the steps of the machine and you can see it all laid out nicely. I’m pretty sure they must have been using this for a school project. I think the video will give kids (and everyone else!) a good overview of how the process works. The good thing about the Klikbot though is that it’s a phone-based app so you can animate on the go. By definition a Rube Goldberg Machine is a very complicated or complex way to complete a simple task. The issue with the ball machine is that they are missing a key element . . . the simple task! So to call them RG machines is simply wrong. They are not. Constructing the Statue of Liberty from Legos is such a fun idea. There's so much learning that happens when you sit down with your child and build a replica of a real-life structure. It also has a built-in microphone so you can add sound effects or your own voice to your animations. Audio recording is optional, of course.

If you compare the webcam quality, the one in Stopmotion Explosion is said to be better. It produces blur-free images and has a higher resolution (1920×1080). Just thought I would get that out of that way and make sure people understand the distinction between the two and why I chose the ones featured here. I've got a huge passion for drawing and animation, and now I'm diving headfirst into the stop-motion world.Did you know that Zu3D created the original software that HUE used when they initially began making their animation kits a number of years ago? It also comes with Zu3D’s software which is very user-friendly and has a lot of fun features, like sound effects and filters. Lego engineering kits introduce kids to new building items like axels and gears. These kits also challenge kids to some pretty advanced building projects.

The Zu3D kit is ideal for claymation using clay puppets whereas the Klikbot isn’t – the figurines they include in the animation kit are small plastic armatures. And with the right stop motion kit, you can create high-quality animations that will amaze your friends and family. The software that’s included is Windows and Mac compatible and very user-friendly. It offers a lot of features, detailed instructions, and tutorials. The parts for each project are shared, encouraging kids to consider other projects of their own creation.

This includes a digital camera, tripod, computer with editing software, and stop motion animation software. I have selected a variety of different ideas, from simple machines made by kids, to ones that are much more complex to build, and even a LEGO Star Wars Death Star one (so cool!) It has one side that is blue and one that is green so you can drop the characters onto the small prop boxes – then you can make them look as if they’re flying. I’m sure you’re already feeling inspired by stop motion feature films like Wallace and Gromit or Corpse Bride. If you have been around for a while, you know that we really, really like LEGO! (If you are new here, welcome!) And, that we are big fans of Rube Goldberg Machines. This is a super fun Lego building kit for kids who are interested in both wild animals and STEM projects.
