About this deal

I liked a lot about this book, it was very interesting to read about South Asian families and I really enjoyed learning more about the culture. Kareena was a relatable character, one that I felt I could understood her point of view and at times I found myself thinking, “I WAS JUST THINKING THAT! Kareena Mann dreams of having a love story like her parents, but she prefers restoring her classic car to swiping right on dating apps. If she can find her soulmate by the date of the party, he’ll gift her the house, and she’ll be able to keep her mother’s legacy alive.

I thought it was kind of hilarious the way Prem and Kareena met again after the failed fiasco at the restaurant and ultimately ended in a big argument at the studio where Prem filmed his show, “Dr. Why do Desi authors amplify this aspect of our culture, to the point where it feels like a caricature and mockery? She'd piled that thick black hair on top of her head in a messy ponytail, and the glasses did nothing to hide her large brown eyes.Fast forward a bit later in the story and Prem and Kareena found themselves at the same restaurant and immediately after sharing a few drinks, having a long conversation, they proceeded to have a little make out session which then abruptly ended, and Kareena was left in an embarrassing situation. Their childish behaviour was supposed to be comedic, but it only succeeded in annoying the hell out of me. To get back in his donor’s good graces, he needs to fix his image fast, and dating Kareena is his only option. But I will say, Prem's belief about love got to be a tad frustrating when he clearly was in love with Kareena.

i saw this book once on booktok and that was my cue to not pick it up because we don’t trust booktok. Kareena: "I've read romance novels since high school, and so many of the heroines are ashamed when they don't have sex after four months, and I'm like, is that the scale I have to go by?

Like Kareena, it seemed no matter what, her family felt by being married then that would be better for her, find someone to settle down with, but Kareena wanted to marry for love, not for convenience.
