The FMC was so annoying and was hot n cold. She states, "But the thought Graham might fall in love with me was never on my radar. This is all his fault really." Like wtf you met his family and talked to him on an intimate but didn't think he could possibly fall in love??!! Julia, looking poised and elegant in a gray dress and heels, veered off into the break room while David turned to where Mia sat. “I can’t find the Trodeau file.” I think we all know by now that friends to lovers is my favorite trope, so I was pretty sure I was going to love this one going in. Add in fake dating and forced proximity and it is pretty much a recipe for perfection. Only every Thursday for the last nine years.” She leaned forward and dropped her elbows to the desk. “It’s your fault, you know. You’re the one who introduced me to them.” From stolen glances to the sweeping euphoria of the first kiss, Allison Ashley writes love stories you feel in your soul. Would You Ratheris a masterful mix of adorable, heart-wrenching, hilarious, and unforgettable. Make sure you have caffeine for the morning, because you'll be up late unable to put down this incredible book."—Denise Williams, author of How to Fail at Flirting

Her logic is like me looking at my husband after twenty years of marriage when his dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and saying, “I don’t want to watch that possibly happen to you or live in fear that it might so we need to divorce”. That’s not how love works. Claire was a way more interesting character who was not brought in enough. I would much rather watch a story of her and Graham or her alone rather than these two. I would do the same for Julia. IsThisAKissingBook: closed door. "I have to." His breath caressed her cheek as he spoke."..."A kiss could say so many things, and these words had been denied far too long." She smiled, ignoring the pang of jealousy at his casual mention of spending time with his dad. There was a time she and her parents got together for regular meals, too. Now, she couldn’t even remember the last time. “Yeah?” Andrew is the kind of hero that makes my heart go pitter-patter. He’s facing a battle only time will tell if he is able to win.

Customer reviews

Would You Rather by Allison Ashley was a fun story with plenty of humor but also some heavier moments involved for the characters to pull at a reader’s heart too. I’m one that enjoys a couple with history together in romance stories and Noah and Mia being so close friends already made it easy to want to give them that little push to take their relationship further. And on top of that the push together came with another favorite of mine in faking being a couple so it was double the enjoyment. When finished I would definitely look for this author again in the future. But all of the feels are definitely there. While the steam level is pretty low, the anticipation is high and intense. These two are definitely meant to be. That made it all worthwhile! They finally decide to give a chance to marriage. But when they start to share the same household, the lines between friendship and true intimacy are getting blurrier. Noah is dealing with his own issues. Ever since his brother passed away on a camping trip the two were on, Noah hasn’t allowed himself to enjoy one of his favorite activities. He has thrown himself into his work, and he’s up for a promotion because of it. But because his father founded the company, he has to deal with coworkers who think he receives special treatment.

Lauren." The rough, husky tone of his voice sent a tingle down her spine."If you only knew what happens to me every time I look at you."Ashley makes favorite rom-com tropes feel new again with a pitch-perfect friends-to-lovers story." -- Publishers Weekly starred review She too has strong feelings for him that have been hidden. But both of them were struggling with the fear of losing each other so ignorance is bliss I guess – until it is not. Sexy and sweet, with a fresh twist on friends-to-lovers, Would You Rather is the type of romance I wish I could read again for the first time. Allison Ashley draws the reader in and holds tight with a carefully woven story, sparkling chemistry, and unforgettable characters. It's pure, swoony, flirty, romantic bliss." - Lauren Accardo

Thanks a MILLION to Allison Ashley who sent me her novel with annotations! It definitely enhanced my reading experience. You are a GEM! Grateful for you! Noah keeps dealing with his own baggage and suffering from grief which restraint him come clean about his feelings. Let me make something clear: this is NOT a literary masterpiece. My enjoyment is not based on Allison Ashley going full Shakespeare and taking me on a mystical journey with unique prose. The writing is simple and straightforward. A little awkward, especially at the beginning. No, my enjoyment is founded in the sweetness of the story and how Ashley wrote a romcom without getting on the Pander Express. From the first chapter both Mia and Noah made you root for them a lot. They have been friends since they were 7 and now they are sharing office space as Noah working on his dream job as aspiring architect at family company and Mia is administrative assistant.

Ashley makes favorite rom-com tropes feel new again with a pitch-perfect friends-to-lovers story....The all too real motivation for the pair's fake marriage makes the trope sing, and Ashley surrounds her characters with supportive friends, family, and colleagues, grounding the story in community and heart. Mia's struggles with chronic illness are similarly well handled, capturing both the physical and emotional toll it takes on her day-to-day life. Readers won't want to put this one down." -- Publishers Weekly starred review While this is book two in an interconnected series, the author does a great job at recapping book one for the reader, allowing this to also be read as a standalone (though you’d miss cuties Mia and Noah so don’t do that).
