The allocation of hardware buttons for most common functions is very commendable, and the only ones I really felt were missing were a high/mid/low sensitivity switch for the input levels, and another switch to select between internal and external mics. I bought a set of headphones to begin with for monitoring, but it is advisable to get monitor speakers as soon as you can. It makes the whole process so much more relaxed. That means that one you've recorded those 4 trax, decided on reverb, panning, level, etc, and do the bounce...IT'S DONE and can't be changed. So when you end up adding new trax, they often don't play nice together. Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided. Cons: None really, but I personally would like it to be a bit larger in size. Only really because the controls and buttons are quite small. Then again its very transportable.

Both models record to widely available SD/SDHC card media (2GB card included). In addition, both models can connect to PCs via USB2.0 for high-speed data transferring. All song ideas can be transferred via USB or SD card readers to and from the units at any point in the recording process. Files can be used in correspondence with DAWs. The sound created by the DP-008EX is excellent for the price. It’s not perfect by any means, but it comes fairly close.
