About this deal

File Format: MPEG4 AVC/H.264 (MOV), Recorded Pixels: Full HD (1920×1080, 60p/30p/24p), Sound: Built-in stereo microphone, Recording Time: Up to 25 minutes or 4GB; automatically stops recording if the internal temperature of the camera becomes high. The GR IIIx features a hybrid AF system combining a contrast-type AF mechanism superior in focusing precision with a phase-detection-type AF mechanism assuring high-speed focusing operation. During autofocus shooting, this AF system detects the subject’s face or eye with precision,* focuses on it, and indicates the in-focus position on the LCD display using the AF frame. When the camera detects multiple faces, it automatically distinguishes the main subject from secondary ones and indicates this on the focus frame. Photographers can also change the main subject with simple touch-screen operation. I will keep this short. As with all modern sensors, the image quality out of the Ricoh GRIII is excellent. Where the little Ricoh stands out from the crowd is the perfect marriage of a sharp lens with a stabilized 24 MP APS-C size sensor, with no anti-aliasing filter. If you don't like composing your photos by holding the camera at arms length and looking at the LCD screen, there's also another way of framing

You will never accidentally activate the touch screen with your nose when you use the electronic viewfinder (EVF) because, well, because there isn’t one. For this reason, I leave the touch functionality switched on at all times. Battery life This function is available at shutter speeds slower than 1/1000 second._ 5. Compact, lightweight design A firmware upgrade for the RICOH GR III will be provided soon. GR III users are advised to update the camera’s firmware to use this program. Number of recordable images: Approx. 200 images, * With a fully-charged Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery under the temperature at 23°C. Tested in compliance with CIPA standard. Actual results may vary depending on the shooting condition.

RICOH GR IIIx

Product would have had five stars if it wasn't for a notorious problem with dust and no easy way to clean dust from a fixed lens camera. Aside from that, the camera deserves six.

Pas de zoom sur l'objectif, c'est vous qui toit de bouger, mais son 28mm donne des photos assez grande angle. Pour moi l'absence de flash intégré n'est pas une problème car je n'utilise jamais la flash pour mes photos. The GR isn’t a mass-market camera and is well below the radar of most amateur photographers. Its appearance is so bland that many assume it must be an equally bland performer. It doesn’t look much for the money and, in the showroom, other models tend to look far more “professional”. Yet nothing could be further from the truth; this is a very capable camera. The GR is bought by a relatively small band of connoisseurs, photographers who have tried many cameras, many of whom, I am sure, also have the odd Leica or high-end Canon in their bags. Whenever I see a GR in the hands of a photographer, I can sense the experience. By applying microscopic vibrations with sub-pixel precision to the image sensor unit during exposure, the camera’s AA (anti-aliasing) Filter Simulator* provides the same level of moiré reduction as an optical AA filter. This innovative simulator allows the user not only to switch the AA filter effect on and off, but also to select the effect to the level best suited for a given subject.view the horizontal and vertical indicators on the LCD monitor to ensure that shots are aligned along each axis. If you're using the external viewfinder, or can't see the LCD screen in very bright sunlight, then the camera can also be set to make a sound to indicate a level horizon. It doesn't sound like a big deal in theory, but in practice it really helps to make all those wide-angle shots perfectly level. The Ricoh GR III is a compact 24MP APS-C format camera with a 28mm equivalent F2.8 lens. The third in a series of APS-C 'GR' compacts from Ricoh, the GR III has been a long time coming, but updates the GR II in some highly significant ways. Several Ricoh representatives have described the GR III to us as a 'labor of love' - keep reading to find out whether the work of the company's engineers has paid off. Key specifications: there's an area of the same material and a slight protrusion which combine together to act as a thumb
