About this deal
I also love the big screens on this system. I can do some comparison here because I bought 2DS's as Christmas gifts this year for those in my household (and we have a DS floating around here somewhere.) It was a unanimous thought that in buying my own system, I should get the XL because I'm more visually inclined. I'm definitely not disappointed. The screens are large and pretty crisp in view, although I can see some pixelation in the top screen but that could just be the game itself (Pokemon X) graphically. I bought screen protectors for them and that's worked out wonderfully to keep them clean and safe. I've had the original gameboy, gameboy color, gameboy advance, nes, snes, gamecube, wii (and playstations also) so I found this 3DS very refreshing and new because of the amazing 3D effect, large screen and beautiful graphics. I watched a lot of youtube gameplay videos before when trying to decide but even with high quality videos, the graphics of the 3DS games looked low so I had the wrong impression! But when I received the actual system in person, I was BLOWN AWAY by the GORGEOUS graphics. I truly didn't except the graphics to be so gorgeous, I really didn't. The 3D effect gives the graphics so so much graphical depth which is something you cannot find in any HD graphic gaming system, the 3DS offers that unique experience because of the unique 3D effect they have going on.
One thing I can say about the 3DS is that the menu system is pretty straight forward and easy to use. Pretty universal for most ages, it reminds me a lot of the Wii and Wii-U, giving the whole experience a familiar and streamlined feeling.
