In the standard case, the Philips Hue Gradient Signe is aligned to a wall and there the colours also appear washed out, so the transitions are not so hard. Nevertheless, I would recommend not selecting colours that are too far apart. A real rainbow effect like with the long lightstrips cannot be created with the short Signe.

The next thing I was blown away by was the size; the floor lamp is really quite tall for a premium strip of LED, 57.4 inches. Otherwise, it has a tiny footprint of less than 4.5- inches, which guarantees it will fit in all but the tiniest of spaces. Really, though, as anyone who has used/got any sort of Philips Hue lighting will know, this paperwork isn't really needed. To get this lamp working I simply plugged it in, opened the Philips Hue app on my smartphone, and then selected the add new lights option. The app is where the Philips Hue Gradient Signe comes to life – and it's via the app that you can set up the lamp to your requirements. Taking it out of the box, I was really blown away by the strength and quality of the design of the Signe. Our oak model has a lovely wood-toned, circular base and an otherwise-aluminum construction. If you want to integrate lamps into your smart home that don't support Hue bulbs, then this smart plug is the one to choose. It's easy to use, compact and unassuming; but you'll need a Hue Bridge to controlit when you're away from home. Overall, then, I feel the Philips Hue Gradient Signe Floor Lamp offers a lot to potential buyers, and it is one of the most versatile smart lighting products that I've tested.
