I was extremely excited to be offered the opportunity to work with Jennifer Saint for the second time. Reading manuscripts previous to designing has always played an important part in my design practice. It offers me a deeper examination of the tone of voice and small details that I can excavate whilst building out each cover concept. The way Jennifer can breathe life into ancient tales provides me with a wealth of inspiration to pull from – originally for Ariadne (2021) and now, Elektra (2022).

Jennifer Saint has created a version of an ancient myth which is absolutely thrilling to read, and which gives so much depth and vitality to the characters. The book is profoundly moving, and full of beautiful touches which made the story feel fresh and immediate without losing any of the magic of the classical setting. I will be pressing this book on everyone I know.

Alive and pure once more, Elektra joined the Chaste in their mountain. [14] Later, the Snakeroot clan, part of the Hand, used S.H.I.E.L.D. agent John Garrett to get Elektra's essence, since John had merged minds with Elektra. The Snakeroot took Elektra's essence from John and placed it in a corpse, naming it Erynys. [34] Erynys was tasked to get the About Face Virus for the Snakeroot so that the merger of the corpse and Elektra's essence would become permanent. Stone went to help Daredevil find the About Face virus but Erynys stabbed Stone from behind preventing him from using his invulnerability against known threats. Elektra arrived and forced Erynys and John Garrett to flee. Upon finding the virus, the Snakeroot arrived to take it. [35] this novel tells the stories of three women who are impacted by the trojan war - clytemnestra, elektra, and cassandra (why this book is named after only elektra, i couldnt tell you). and because i am already familiar with their stories, this didnt offer me anything new. its very true to the original tale and does a good job at giving a voice to these women. i just wish there had been a little more uniqueness to this book. Nevertheless, I wanted to read this if only for my love of mythology and I am glad that I did despite this not being as good as the author's previous book.

A telling / retelling of one of Greek mythologies best known stories - the siege of Troy as the author breathes life, personality and soul into the story of Troy and all the best known characters with a lot of new faces as this particular story focuses on the women of this timeless tale.
