Meanwhile, Alex Bailey is training tobecome the next Fairy Godmother…but her attempts at granting wishes nevergo as planned. Will she ever be truly readyto lead the Fairy Council? A boat ride lead them to the Northern Kingdom, and through a hidden gate they swam past the guards and towards Queen Snow White's palace. As they looked for the jewels attached to the coffin, they found out who exactly their competition was when it came to collecting the items. Leaving the thought to the side for a moment, they once more approached the owner of the object – in this case Snow White – directly. The queen let them know that the glass coffin was returned to the dwarfs, who now kept it in their mines.

Alex and Conner spend the night at Froggy's home as his guests, having decided to begin their journey to collect the items the next day. A little downcast, Alex and Conner took the long way to the Dwarf Forests upon themselves, continuing their quest in the mines. Soon they found the coffin and managed to pry a few of the jewels loose, leaving them with just one more item to collect. Spirits soaring high with their success, they didn't pay attention to their surroundings and found themselves in yet another life-threatening situation. This time they didn't miss the Fairy Kingdom. Even though Conner and Alex both had different ideas about how to get a fairy to shed a tear for them, their plans turned out to be unnecessary. They found the fairy Trix quietly crying to herself because she was due to appear at a trial. Though they had already collected one of her tears, the twins offered to accompany her.Alex and Conner are caught and enslaved by a troll and a goblin and brought to there territory. Over there, they meet The Travelling Tradesman mentioned in the journal. The twins manage to escape with the help of Trollbella, daughter of the Troll King, in exchange for a kiss from Conner. They decide to help the other slaves escape as well. The territory falls apart, and through the mess, the twins find one of the items for the spell (the Troll & Goblin Crown).

After a dramatic change of the situation, the twins and their friends find shelter in Queen Snow White's castle where they destroy the saber from the deepest sea as promised. An invitation from Cinderella to celebrate the birth of her child gives them the opportunity to return her glass slipper to her and the spindle to Sleeping Beauty. In the palace, they encounter the Fairy Godmother, who, they find out is in fact their grandmother. Furthermore she tells the twins that they have been following their own father's journal the whole time, and that they both have fairy blood in them, which is why the spell could be activated with the use of Alex's tear. They also hear from Sir Lampton that he helped them on their quest by putting the glass slipper in Alex's bag. Princess Hope: Daughter of Queen Cinderella and King Chance Charming. Princess of the Charming Kingdom. It's hard not to love [the book]...Colfer gets off many good lines [and] the nifty ending ties the plot's multiple strands up while leaving room for further fairy tale adventures." (Publishers Weekly). Captain Hook is the main antagonist from "Peter Pan" where Alex and Conner Bailey chase the Masked Man as well. Captain Hook briefly was recruited by the Masked Man before he defected from the Masked Man. His sworn enemy is Peter Pan and his right-hand-man is Mr. Smee. Charlotte and John Bailey are the parents of Alex and Conner. John died in a car crash before the first book, leaving Charlotte on her own until the second book when she marries Bob. Charlotte and Bob are active in the Land of Stories in the second book. Who wouldn't have gone to the ends of the earth to be reunited with the person they loved more than life itself? Who wouldn't have ripped their own heart out to stop that kind of pain?”

Unbeknownst to them, they were not the only ones trying to use the Wishing Spell. The Evil Queen was on a quest to collect the items as well. While Alex and Conner got all their information from the journal, the Evil Queen got it from her Magic Mirror, who gave the Queen an important warning: The Wishing Spell could only be used twice, and as it had already been used once before; so, it could only be used one more time. Thus, a true competition to collect the items began. A competition that, unlike the Evil Queen, the twins didn't yet know about. While the Queen sent the Huntsman's daughter to find all the needed objects, she planned to take care of Alex and Conner herself. The Land of Stories is headed to the big screen. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Chris Colfer‘s best-selling book series is getting the film treatment. What’s more, Colfer himself is set to write and direct the feature film version of the first book, The Wishing Spell, set up at Twentieth Century Fox and Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps.

Alexandra Marie Bailey is a smart, curious girl, described as having bright blue eyes and short, strawberry-blond hair with a headband always in it. She is studious and pays close attention to every class, getting full marks. She is also considered the teacher's pet but doesn't have any friends. She is the twin sister to Conner Bailey. She is one of the most powerful fairies ever known. She also is the reason why the twins went into the Land of Stories in the first place.
