Dog gets left behind when Big and Little decide to visit the dark, dark dinosaur museum. When Dog follows Big and Little to the dinosaur museum, he thinks a huge, huge dinosaur wanted to hurt them. The English voices were provided by popular comedian Griff Rhys Jones, who also sang the theme song as the Moon Man whilst the original Welsh voices were provided by Ray Gravel, who also sang the theme song as the Moon Man. Funnybones (Welsh: Y Sgerbyde) is a Welsh-British children's television comedy series, which originally aired on S4C in Wales, and on BBC One with BBC Two showing repeats elsewhere in the United Kingdom from 29 September to 15 December 1992.The author uses ‘word repetition’ throughout the book to make it enjoyable to the reader and also to make it humorous. A song is also included in the book, and I remember as a child reading the book over and over again and singing along out loud! The Big Skeleton, The Little skeleton and The Dog Skeleton are fast asleep, dreaming about dinosaurs. But what started as a lovely dream suddenly gets a bit scary when the dinosaurs start chasing the skeletons - and these dinosaurs have roller skates! Funnybones: Skeleton Crew - "Zzz!" The three skeletons enjoy a holiday on their little boat. But what happens when a PIRATE comes aboard? One night the skeletons decide to take their dog for a walk and frighten somebody. That's what skeletons are supposed to do, right? So off they go.

The skeleton family consists of an adult, a kid, and a dog. They live in a basement and decide to go for a walk one night. It's really all harmless fun that does have a bit of a creepy edge. I mean, they're skeletons. 😅 The skeletons like to explore at night time. Why do we have day and night? What happens to the Earth and Sun to give us light times and dark times? Als kind vond ik dit boek fantastisch en nu nog steeds! Er zitten komische details in de teksten en de tekeningen. Ondanks de thematiek is het totaal niet eng. Big: The larger skeleton brother (who wore a mini red bowler hat in the TV series and who wore various hats in the storybooks and in his wishful ideas). He admitted "good idea" on every idea he approved of from Little.

In the first book of this now classic series, we are taken down the dark, dark street to the dark, dark house and into the dark, dark cellar in which the skeletons live. But during the dark, dark night, the skeletons like to come out to play… in the park, in the zoo and even all the way home, singing songs and scaring each other.

It's such a fun quirky tale as both big and little skeleton decided to see if they can scare someone whilst taking dog skeleton for a night time walk.Funnybones’ can be used in the classroom in several ways. In English lessons for example, children can learn to appreciate the use of rhyme, alliteration, onomatopoeia, punctuation, speech and simple sentences. Pupils could explore the beginning of the story to help them write their own creative story with a repetitive refrain. In KS1 classes, the teacher could also use the book as a point of reference to explain how speech marks are used as well as other relevant punctuation.
