About this deal

It probably can’t be said enough but I am a sucker for countryside-themed stuff (I actually enjoyed Escape to the Country and was disappointed when it was taken off Netflix). By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. It doesn't matter where you live or what lifestyle you choose if you've got the right kind of appreciation of it.

Drinking wine that was made on this same vineyard, or at least, in the same region, by a friendly neighbour. A few people, approached us when we were having coffee or breakfast at the inn, shook our hands (something especially the young French do now instead of the cheek-kissing), and asked if we got our possessions back. This book isn’t just a wonderful way to enjoy experiencing someone else’s life in another country, or your adopted country if you, like me are an English expat, it is a way to get a real feel for what living in France is really like – warts and all. The author's bleak battle with the elements, a rather smelly sheep and a fickle electricity supply is delightfully counterbalanced with impressions of French life, customs, neighbours, food and of course wine.

Carolyne’s freelance articles can be found in Global Living Magazine, Avenue Magazine and City Palate (Published Travel Articles). Imagine sitting out on the field every day, come rain or shine, and just taking in this beauty, day-in and day-out.

We realised pretty quickly that we were still townies at heart and we couldn’t eat our own animals so now we are overrun by birds! Janine’s book begins with her classification of expats into three general buckets: Retirees, Escapees (not from jail), and Lifestyle Changes.everything went wrong, including an overflowing septic tank that earned Marsh the nickname Madame Merde. This book is also different from a lot of other ex-Brits in France stories, because the house is up in the north of France. Pepperpot, Jean-Claude, Claudette, and the infamous Bread Man, Toujours La France also introduces listeners to some new faces and funny stories, as Janine and Mark continue their lives in this special part of northern France. It’s also the little moments: finding a jazz band playing in a cosy café or in a cobblestone alley, the smell of fresh pastries from a boulangerie – there are more than 1700 in Paris, so you’ve got a lot of choice - or a sunset view from the bridges over the Seine.
