Both characters had pasts that should have been grappled with, but it was good to see that Holden had a strong support system to love and care for. And that’s it for julep. I appreciated that they were both damaged characters, but when the heroine needs the hero, it added a nice layer to her story. I love the man that Holden was and the fact that he never gave up, even when told to. The way he cared and the way he spoke up? Perfection! If she is Juliet then he is Romeo and she does not want to die and tells herself that she will steer clear of him. If her father learned that she was fraternising with the enemy both of their lives would be forfeit. She knew she was destined to be an author from a very young age when she read the first installment of “Harry Potter” in the 4th grade. When Kandi was in the 6th grade she penned the articles, and edited her own newspaper, after which she proceeded to distribute copies to her classmates. I loved this new series of college football love books by Kandi Steiner. Although all of these books can be read independently, isn’t it more fun to fall in love with more characters? I was fascinated by Holden Moore, our QB1, right from the start. He was hyper focused on the game and on improving himself and his team. He is a true leader and has shown it in every book. His only goal is to lead his team to the top without distractions. And that means no women. He wasn’t even sure if a woman could walk through his walls. But then comes Julep Lee, daughter of the new coach and new member of the sports medicine coaching staff.Steiner likes to write about what it feels to have your heart broken and to fall in love in addition to everything that comes in between those two states. She loves writing new adult romances, as she believes that much self discovery when it comes to romance comes during the ages of 18-30.
