About this deal

This session is for trained Nordic Walkers who wish to get out and practice/develop their Nordic Walking Technique and improve their fitness levels, whilst working at a pace appropriate for them. In Australia we get: g'day, faster, fun, and bonzer. We get jet-skiing. We get the Sydney Opera House. We get ... ... Wait, that's it. Appropriate Clothing - Due to the rapidly changing weather conditions our wonderful country displays. You are advised to wear appropriate clothing for changing weather conditions. (Layers of breathable clothing that can be removed/replaced as your own/surrounding temperature dictates). You will be moving your arms and legs throughout the session so loose-fitting clothes are recommended for your comfort. The penguins are little idiots. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be funny, but I found it annoying.

These sessions also sometimes incorporate exercises designed to improve balance, strength, mobility and general fitness. We do warm-up exercises before the session and cool-down stretches after our Nordic Walk. The warm-ups and cool-downs are slightly different and slower paced than other sessions, to allow participants more time to transition between each exercise/stretch. A nice adventurous story of Polar Bear and Penguins and friendship which grew between them with a wrong turn. Illustrations are beautiful and colourful. I don't think the countries are explored or explained very well, but it might give you a jumping off point for young readers. I mean, if they can learn to visually identify the Sydney Opera House (and they don't live in Australia), I think that's a win. Perhaps the book will give them ideas about traveling, which is good.Poles Apart is based on interviews with leaders on both sides of the Atlantic and the latest academic research. It explains why we are so tribal, the advantages and disadvantages of being so, its often-unknown effects on our politics, businesses and social groups, and what we can do to halt excessive polarisation. It’s a brilliantly insightful – and very practical – book on a timeless subject that also happens to be very topical. It acts as the ideal primer for those who have ever had to negotiate or resolve a conflict – in other words, all of us. I'm a huge fan of Fallis' earlier writing, especially "Best Laid Plans." But, this book was pretty bad both in concept and in writing. Asks the best question I have ever heard. And, critically, offers solutions. A must read.' Rory Sutherland, Vice Chairman of Ogilvy UK, and author of Alchemy

For instance, in the United States we get: howdy, busy, buzzing, and awesome. We get 5th Avenue (USA = NYC apparently), bubble gum, taxi cabs, and street musicians. In Poles Apart, an expert on polarisation, a behavioural scientist and a professional communicator explain why we are so prone to be drawn into rival, often deeply antagonistic factions. They explore the shaping force of our genetic make-up on our fundamental views and the nature of the influences that family, friends and peers exert. They pinpoint the economic and political triggers that tip people from healthy disagreement to dangerous hostility, and the part played by social media in spreading entrenched opinions. And they help us to understand why outlooks that can seem so bizarre and extreme to us seem so eminently sensible to those who hold them.

In Italy we get: Ciao, wet, wonderful, and magnifico. We get gondolas and gelato. And... that's about it. Yeah. Italy kind of gets the shaft here.
