About this deal

Work began on the construction of the development in late 2015, launching with a ground-breaking ceremony, for which event investors flew into the UK from China. The whole project was an exercise in creating value where it is most vital. The interior spaces burst with rich tones and premium furnishings while the external facades are allowed to be simple materially responding to the environment with a natural and authentic timber. The 13th Duke of Norfolk paid for the branch line from Dinting to Glossop in 1847 and commissioned the building of Glossop Station. Hadfield Station was also designed by Hadfield and Weightman. Glossop Hall

The stadium and surrounding campus, designed for elite sport, creating an exceptional atmosphere, with advanced facilities, offering all competitors and fans an inclusive and distinctive experience. Designed by architects Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson, the St Crispin’s House building will retain the existing structure but it will be fully refurbished and extended, stripping out the shell and core, and constructing additional floors to create a seven-storey building. A five-storey extension to the rear of the building is also included within the development. The façade palette is made up of terracotta rain-screen tiles and aluminium cladding, with a large section of the roof level designed as a green roof. After the death of Matthew Ellison Hadfield in 1885, his son Charles Hadfield carried on the practice. In 1890 Arthur Garland became a partner, the style of the firm then being Hadfield, Son and Garland. The club has been precisely detailed by our architects to achieve a well-insulated building to maximise air tightness and reduce heat loss. Careful space planning using regulatory guidelines to increase efficiency by limiting circulation spaces and maximise active spaces. The three outdoor Tennis courts are covered by an inflatable air dome. The permanent air dome provides members with the opportunity to play day or night and more importantly in all weather. The curved shape of the dome and its maximum height are designed specifically to cater for LTA requirements based on court play and ball curvature. The scheme delivers a connection between the stadium, club, and community which is exemplified in a new public realm that will deliver an unrivalled fan experience and provide significant community benefits. After his father’s death C M Hadfield ran an independent practice until Robert Cawkwell became a partner in 1924. Although C M Hadfield retired in 1937 the style of the firm remained Hadfield and Cawkwell until 1946, when John William Davidson joined Robert Cawkwell. As an architect, Matthew E Hadfield was an early follower of the Gothic revival movement, led by A.W.N. Pugin, and directly contributed to the revival of Mediaeval and Gothic Architecture. He designed numerous Catholic Churches, the most notable of which being St Marie’s Church, Sheffield; elevated to cathedral status in 1980, St John the Evangelist, Salford, elevated to cathedral status in 1850 and The Cathedral of the Annunciation and St Nathy, Ballaghaderreen, Ireland, completed in 1860. [1] [2] [3] At Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson Architects, our architectural ethos is to innovate and promote sustainable building practices. We utilise a "fabric first" approach to sustainability and low energy initiatives, prioritizing these over more expensive, less renewable mechanical or electrical building services. This approach helps to reduce capital and operational costs, improve energy efficiency, and reduce carbon emissions.
