About this deal

Joyo has built a reputation for itself when it comes to affordable and great-sounding effects pedals and the Voodoo Octave is no exception. It is preferred over the Joyo Fuzz Pedal, Purple Storm, because of its octave feature which can come in handy. It also does not interfere with the normal distortion effect when disengaged, which makes having the feature useful for emergencies even when you don't use harmonic effects frequently in your playing. If you're interested in this stompbox, this Joyo Voodoo Octave review will provide you with everything you need to know about this guitar pedal. Should You Get It? These 2 caps are marked as C9 and C15 on the Joyo PCB. C9 is immediately below the top left hand pot (fuzz) in the gutshot in post 1. C15 is below the mid-cut switch and off to the right. These caps correspond to C7 and C12 on the ggg schematic. The Mooer Pure Octave is a mini-size octave pedal with versatile blending options and a wide choice of octave modes. It comes with eleven different octave settings with up to five available octaves in a single setting. This pedal will easily fit in any pedalboard and stay there for a while thanks to its rugged metal chassis. A good choice for those with very limited space. Features

Having said that, the Joyo does one of these voices. And it does it very very well. The Joyo US Dream, as well as the Suhr Riot, are fantastic pedals to be used for lead tones. And, just like a natural overdriven tube amp responds to volume control, so will these two pedals. Essentially, they clean up really nicely. Because I know for sure that they are clones. And, I own as well as used extensively, these two series of pedals. Okay, I changed my mind. After much deliberation and debate with myself. I have decided to add the Ironman series of pedals to this Joyo pedal clone list. If you want a snarling fuzz beast that adds another dimension to your riff with the Octave Up is engaged, look no further than the JOYO JF-12 Vodoo Octave Fuzz. This is a versatile pedal that was made for those that prefer a more vintage sound but that can be used in modern settings as well. Features The Donner Harmonic Square has 7-octave modes that you can switch by turning the main knob: ±2, ±3, ±4, ±5, ±7, 1 octave, and 2 octaves. All of this is housed in a very compact aluminum alloy chassis that will easily fit on any pedalboard and be able to take road and gig punishment. Why not just use an SF300? They're just not hip. It may have the perfect sound but the cheap ugly plastic housing and pedestrian popularity makes it unappealing to people who want their pedals to look cool. The JF-12 is also cheap but it at least has a metal housing and isn't a huge meme pedal. In my area it's more easily available. For that reason, I’ll take a look at which pedals the Ironman series are clones, copies, originals or draw inspiration from other pedals. The major feature of this series is the pedals small size as well as the knob covers. The small size of these pedals makes them a fantastic addition to an already clustered or cramped pedalboard. Our choice for best octave pedal is the MXR M288 Octave Deluxe. It offers a creamy analog tone with a great variety of options from subtle to extreme. For those on a budget, the Donner Harmonic Square is a fantastic choice with plenty of features in a compact size. If you demand the best there is, our premium option is the Electro-Harmonix Micro POG. Joyo is an already-established Chinese clone pedal brand and they’ve been around for quite some time. As a result, we can see their pedals hold up well

Another useful new feature of the OC-5 is the octave-up effect, with can be used in both Vintage and Poly modes. You can crate octave-down effects for extended chord voicings, as well as unique solo tones, and even make your electric sound like a faux 12 string guitar. The only downside to the Ironman pedals is that they can’t run off a 9v battery. Only a power supply. Another thing I realized is that they’re a bit on the higher side in terms of price when compared to the 10 and 30 series. However, they definitely still fall into the budget category of pedals. For the pedals that are smaller versions of clones from other series, I haven’t written much of a review as they’ve been covered above in the 10 series and 30 series. They’re built well are are pretty rugged. My Joyo clone pedals have already endured years of abuse and still function perfectly.Fortunately, Joyo has created a more than a sufficient clone of this Suhr Riot pedal. However, this is not a direct clone as there are some differences between these two pedals. For example, the Suhr Riot comes with an extra voicing toggle switch. Which lets you switch between three different high gain distortion voices. I believe that capacitors use a marker to indicate direction (a white stripe down the side?) and have their value marked on them. So IMO what would be really useful is an indication of where or which way that direction indicator should be, and what values should be where.

The Donner Digital Octave guitar pedal is a solid and compact unit for those looking for a good budget option. It is one of the smallest guitar pedals in this list but offers flexibility and many features, making it an ideal candidate for those with tight pedalboards. Features drfried wrote:Apparently the polarity of those two 10mf coupling caps are reversed (on purpose?) on Fulltone's Ultimate Overdrive, and the Joyo appears to be an exact clone of that, not of the Foxx Tone Machine. Those 47n and 100n caps are also switched on the two. Looking into the Joyo Wooden sound, it is very hard to find a pedal that this could be a clone of. The closest thing I can think of is the Boss Acoustic Simulator. However, this Wooden sound is its own unique pedal. Simulating the acoustic guitar is one of the hardest effects to get right. And Joyo has hit the nail on the head with this Acoustic Sim. Whilst Acoustic Simulators will of course never really sound like the real thing. This is about as close as it gets to achieving a well rounded acoustic tone from your electric guitar by the stomp of a switch. Ironman Amp Simulators This is a musical octaver without unwanted glitches in lower notes and chords, allowing you to transform your electric guitar into a 12-string, a bass, or even a church organ.

For the purposes of this clone list, I will be discussing only the 10 and 30 series of pedals. The reason I haven’t included the Iron Man series is that these mini pedals are supposed to hold their own. And whilst they very well may be clones, I’m much more equipped to discuss the 10 and 30 series. You may see where I'm going with this, the reduced octave on the JF-12 might be comparable to that of the SF300, no? So if we can leave that but fix the bass response, it may sound like a Superfuzz, right? To my ear they are quite similar, mostly differing by frequency curve,
