About this deal

Sixtowns London Dry Gin comes to us from Stoke-on-Trent, a town known for its pottery – and now two brothers, Vitalijs and Alex, are ready to make it known for gin, too.

The distillery recreates this early form of whisky, which, like a gin, is infused with botanicals: cleavers (goosegrass), lemon verbena and sweet cicely, all grown in the abbey gardens. Hake with coco beans and saffron rouille was overcooked and the sauce gelatinous, while the breast of duck was minute, but at least prettily plated on a truffle and puy lentil fricassée with a parsley root puree. When you visit our farm, you will find that the dog shed has now been converted into a distillery and it is from here that Charles Bryant, our master distiller, continues to dream up and experiment with gin under the watchful eye of our six dogs: Midget, Obelix, Flea, Bodrum, Jack and Diesel.Six by Nico’s hake with coco beans, saffron rouille and bouillabaisse sauce: ‘Overcooked, and the sauce was gelatinous. Many of them hadn’t witnessed first-hand how this once-twinkly, charming thoroughfare, popular with Londoners as well as tourists, was now desolate, boarded-up, bin bag-laden and a sort of Spaghetti Junction for Fitzrovia’s foxes.

Winner of the Tony Award for ‘Best Original Score’ and ‘Best Costume Design’, double winner of the Whatsonstage Award for ‘Best West End Show’ and a Gold-Disk winning album, this sell-out Tudor take-off has ‘an incredibly strong and powerful message’ (The Australian) and is ‘pure entertainment’ (New York Times). Former sailing instructors Angus Lugsdin and Howard Davies have cleverly ridden the gin boom, setting up their distillery in one of the most prosperous parts of south Devon, the coastal town of Salcombe.Nestled in the little valley of De Wet in the Western Cape province of South Africa, Six Dogs is, at its heart, to the spirit of innovation and adventure, while our range of 100% natural hand-crafted premium gins pay homage to family, friends, our partners in trade, gin-lovers in South Africa and around the world, and our ever-faithful six dogs. This superb indie pub bloody loves a turkey dinner in December, but you’ll feel nice and toastie in their lovely, warm garden all throughout winter. Even so, every single table was full, and a queue of wannabe diners trailed out of the door, eager to throw money in Nico’s general direction.

Band posters deck the walls, and Madness playing here back in the 70s gave the pub something of a reputation as a starting point for bands and musicians from the Britpop era. I’m not entirely sure anyone ate at Elena’s solely for the food, although signed photos of the likes of Gene Wilder and Ella Fitzgerald pointed towards the fact that they’d been made to feel special and valued.A Brewdog pub close to the Camden Road overground station, the Camden Road Arms is a spacious spot with friendly service, epic food and a fantastic selection of beers. The menu consists of a variety of traditional meat and fish dishes, gourmet pizza and homemade desserts.

It’s also one of the best pubs with a misnomer: the place is named after Ships Haven Bay in County Donegal, but some silly English folks misheard it and the name stuck. If you’re looking to enjoy the smoothest tasting gin while admiring a gorgeous view, then head to Hout Bay Harbour Distillery. Voted the North London ‘pub of the year’ in 2013, 2015 and 2018, Tapping The Admiral is something of a legend in this neck of the woods. SIXTOWNS Pink Gin is a premium gin with a blend of the highest quality ingredients, sweet rhubarb and tangy strawberry flavours.

The distillery is located in the heart of the historic harbour and is renowned for producing world-class vapour infused gin and has won a range of awards for its gins. All our journalism is independent and is in no way influenced by any advertiser or commercial initiative. A North London landmark and a lively spot, The World’s End draws an eclectic crowd – including even Charles Dickens himself back in the day. Yes, The Ice Wharf is a Wetherspoons – but that means oodles of seating and affordable drinks, along with a literally-canalside location with plenty of picnic benches – great for people watching.
