About this deal

Looking for the perfect balance of price and performance? The Ultra-Lite2 poncho is definitely a product you’ll love using. The Selk’bag Sleeping Bag Onesie looks and feels almost identical to a mummy-style sleeping bag. However, it features arms and legs with removable booties. But in whet or cold conditions or both this technique doesn't really work. If it rains from the beginning, you can't let the poncho open. In a rainy night your blanket is whet after round about 6 hours. You have to stand up and start moving or ignite a fire to warm yourself and to dry the blanket or sleeping bag. That is such a point where skills are more important than high end equipment and in usually dry summer conditions here the sentence " The more you know the less you carry" becomes understandable for the beginner. Who uses that technique in dry summer conditions becomes able to let in one rush at home tent or bivvy bag and rain suit saving a lot of weight and volume. My biggest con is size; for wider individual it could be an issue. Not height wise as it is 79” long, but it is rather narrow at 27.5” If you have wide shoulders or are just a big individual, it may be too small. For myself, length wise it fits fine but width wise, it is at the point of being uncomfortable. I have a shoulder diameter of 48” and if you are any larger than that, it will be too tight.

If you plan on moving around in your Selk’bag (and who wouldn’t?), I recommend sizing up (especially if you want to walk around in the booties). This gives you room to move without feeling constricted, and while still keeping you warm. You’ll also enjoy the extra space while sleeping. As for use as a shelter, I would combine it with a bivvy bag and it will work well. It has plenty of tie out points so you can tailor the tarp to to suit your setup. The drawstring on the hood can be fully closed to make sure no water will leak on you during the night. Would it be my personal choice for a primary shelter? No, but I’m a tent guy, however knowing that my waterproofs can provide an emergency shelter for myself or someone else in an emergency situation, is the kind of versatility that makes this product stand out. But the zipper at the sleeping bag was a pretty good idea. And the mummy shape sleeping bag was the next good idea.

Wear Your Sleeping Bag for Halloween?

Let’s not forget, the polyester material isn’t stretchable as nylon. Helikon-Tex has sacrificed a fraction of the durability to improve the overall water resistance. Bottom Line We slept like this before it started to rain. That was the standard way to use it always and everywhere.

What could be better than a (7) fun halloween costume that also keeps you comfortable and warm? Selk’bag Sleeping Bag Onesie Specs:
