As mentioned, the Decent One's 36V Li-ion battery is located in the handlebar stem (like the original Ninebot models), whereas the majority of scooters now house their battery in the base (including the Ducati Scrambler, which also has a replaceable battery). Eco mode will allow you to cruise at lower speeds to maximise the battery life and standard mode is a great balance between speed and distance. The One non-slip handlebar design means you can remain comfortable riding the scooter for long periods without your hands slipping.

Instead of keeping your finger wavering on the throttle the whole time the Decent One Max has a novel cruise control option. Disappointingly, unlike many other modern e-scooters models, the One Max doesn’t come with an accompanying app that can open up other features such as more precise riding and battery information stats.The slim form factor of the battery doesn't take up a lot of space and can be transported in your backpack. This scooter also features a removable, replaceable battery that can be charged both inside and outside the scooter in under 3 hours! The 5Ah battery can last up to ranges of 20 miles (32km) and has three ride modes, eco, standard and sport so you can tailor your journey for speed or for distance.

The lack of app connectivity makes little real-world difference but the shorter range (on a single, charged battery) means it is hard to give it the full five stars (despite its cheapness and nifty battery system).

Fitted with easily accessible 'car' type Schrader valves, they can easily be inflated without fiddly extra adaptors. Alongside the braking force of the hub motor, the rear wheel features a powerful mechanical disc brake to quickly bring the scooter to a halt.
