About this deal

The Schooner Hotel is situated in Alnmouth, a small village on the coast of Northumberland. The village lies at the mouth of the river Aln and was once a thriving seaport. It was to this harbour that ships from across the globe would come carrying cargoes of grain and coal. Schooners themselves were fast and handy vessels used for either fishing or trading, mainly with the Baltic States.

The teams three-part investigation of a huge grade II listed building in Staffordshire proved to be one of their most active yet. All three parts are worth a watch, but it was in the second episode that viewers were wowed by the building. Most Haunted Shorts is a series that includes episodes that never shown on television. The series has been airs on the Official YouTube channel. In November 2019, Karl Beattie stated "As the Most Haunted Shorts are getting longer, we are now calling them 'Extras'" announcing a brand new Most Haunted Extra to be released the following week. [6] # Parapsychologist Dr Ciarán O’Keefe concocted the character and passed the name to a crew member who would then walk Derek around the Gaol and drop the name into passing (The name being an anagram of Derek Faker). While sitting quietly, Yvette begins to goad the spirit to which Derek screams “CON. FRON. TATION!” while Yvette immediately flies to the other end of the room with an impressive speed. Until the fifteenth century we depend on tradition for our knowledge of the people who owned Aberglasney. From that point onwards the property was sold to a different family roughly at the start of each new century and a strange seesaw pattern of wealth alternating with misfortune emerging. During the Middle Ages, the area around Aberglasney was the centre for bloody battles, including a particularly violent offensive in 1257. Nearby fields still carry the memories with names such as Cae Tranc (field of vengeance) and Cae'r Ochain (groaning field). She’s had knives thrown at her and spirits come way too close for comfort, but Yvette says she’s teamed up with Smart Energy GB because opening her electricity bill is something that keeps her up at night. Adding Standon Hall in Staffordshire was also particularly hair raising, she continued: ‘I was physically shaking with absolute fear and I had to walk out of both those locations and just take an hour to have a break from it. It was just too much.

The episode ends with Yvette and Karl holding one last vigil in part of the museum, which was dressed up to look like a military dental surgery, but the investigation was cut short when Yvette let out an almighty and prolonged scream, and ran from the building with a worried Karl following. Most Haunted USA was an eight-part mini-series that aired on the American Travel Channel from 12 December 2008 to 30 January 2009. The series has also aired in the UK on alternate weeks to Series 12.

They would go on to investigate the location again for the 100th episode. In a 2004 three-night investigation of Most Haunted Live in Essex, a possessed Derek turns threatening towards host Yvette Fielding in The Thorn Hotel. Seemingly entered by the spirit of a man called Francis, who seems to have immense difficulty in recalling his surname, and dislikes Fielding’s attempts to uncover it. A Live Series of 'Most Haunted' was broadcast every Saturday on Living, live for two-hours. The Live Series ended on 13 March 2010 Little more happens throughout the two-hour séance, but it has gone down in British TV history as one of the crasser attempts at entertainment.

Knowing that Acorah and Fielding were not exactly on friendly terms by now, one does wonder how much of this confrontation really came from the ghost of Francis. Even now, it still makes some uncomfortable viewing. Another legend is that of an evil man who left his wife while fighting in foreign lands. While on his travels he courted another woman who gave him a magic sword. He returned to his castle to have his wife and young child drowned and to marry yet another woman, this one an evil witch. The Moresby family were notorious in the medieval times, and aquired large estates through conquest and marriage. When Series 12 aired, it was mixed in with an 8 part mini series entitled Most Haunted USA. The 8 episodes in the mini series later became known as Series 13 While the team were investigating the ghostly goings on at the Ancient Ram Inn, a former pub in Wotton-under-Edge with the reputation as the most haunted in the UK, Stuart had his biggest scare to date. On the eve of the fateful Battle of Cullodon, the Laird, Andrew Hays, was presented with a writing case by the Prince which is still in the museum. The museum also contains the only pardon ever given to a Jacobite by the English after the battle. The crew member told Acorah that the information he was being given was not to be used during filming as there was no sign of Kafer in the prison records.

TV shows featuring real people telling their ghost stories are a dime a dozen these days, and it's easy to see why. Who doesn't like to get a little scared in the safety of their own home? The fact that the stories are said to be true just adds to the decadence. Haunted, which recently released its third season on Netflix, brings its offering of the genre in an enjoyably unique way.

Few amongst the dedicated army of Most Haunted fans will ever forget the Edinburgh Vaults special, broadcast live from the eerie location. The Edinburgh Vaults, which were constructed in the late 1700s, has a rich and morbid history. Originally built to be used for storage space for local South Bridge businesses, the Vaults were eventually taken over by city slum dwellers and the poor, as well as prostitutes. The Vaults were small, dark, dirty and cramped. Many were ill and unhappy there. Most Haunted undertook a Live special from the Vaults in 2006, and the results were frightening and unnerving. The family itself had very strong military connections and the hall was a major stronghold in the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745-1746 with close ties to Bonnie Prince Charlie.
