There is equal time given to both girl and boy characters, though the main character is a girl. The girls in the book are brave and one boy is timid while the other boy is a slight bully. A great kids book, I loved Dave the unicorn , this is a great entertaining read for children for those obsessed with unicorns and hide not, it’s a great story about friendship and the different forms it comes in. Wonderful read for kidsMy only issue (which is sort of a non issue, because I’m not bothered by it, but others might be) is that Dave the Unicorn apparently farts a lot, has big poops, and even threw up everything in his stomach. I think this is the author’s way of showing the reader that he isn’t a perfect specimen, but that he has his positive points within the story too.
