About this deal

This is a reference to The Return of the King when Frodo gets to Mount Doom with the One Ring, which makes him invisible like Annabeth's Yankees Cap does to Percy, and claims the Ring as his rather than destroying it. Dalla prima alla quinta superiore, il campo mezzosangue è stata la mia costante e il mio posto sicuro. He's never really been given a break to be a kid. Being a half blood doesn't allow you the luxury. I'm almost thankful for it after reading this book simply because he learned so much faster than anyone else that growing up is the most important thing you can do in your life. Loving people, getting to live life beside them, that's the point. More news soon, and thanks as always to my terrific readers. It has been a thrill to write in Percy’s voice again, and a great honor to know that these books have been part of your lives! Go to areas that people barely visit and collect the chests to get the chalice easier, examples of places are Port Town and Great Tree.

Percy hopes that he doesn't have a Frodo moment where he gets to the threshold of Mount Brunch with his magic item and then, instead of handing it over, becomes visible, yells "haha! The cup is mine!" and drinks the immortality-flavored Kool-Aid. Can Percy and his friends Annabeth and Grover find the chalice before it falls into the wrong hands? And even if they do, will they be able to resist its awesome power. . .? This is meant to be a story about the original trio, Percy, Annabeth and Grover, so most of the story revolves around them. You may hear little hints about what is going on with other characters in Percy’s universe, but for the most part, it’s just the O.G. crew. Athena, who created the cap in the first place, is completely immune to its powers, but she chooses to help Percy rather than exposing him. That’s because the flow may feel disrupted with the short stories that are scattered throughout the timeline. As well, since Riordan was writing multiple series over the span of many years, there is overlap throughout the universe with events taking place at the same time. Some of the short stories are also hard to place within the timeline, because trying to line up seasons, ages, and events within the overall timeline with the main books can be challenging. He has assured fans that a repeat of the 2010 and 2013 movies will not be the case for the new Disney+ show which will premiere in December 2023. Riordan says that the show will finally deliver a faithful adaptation and that it is the depiction of Percy on screen that everyone has been waiting for.

The Percabeth moments were lovely - such a delight to read! You can see how their relationship has become so very solid - so in tune and entwined with each other - with dry wit that comes from Percy knowing in his heart that he and Annabeth are in for the long run - that for a girl who had seen his baby pictures, 'I had no dignity left. Annabeth and I were still together. I figured that was good enough. 💜💜 But, that one moment which caught me completely off guard when it happened! One second, it was all hearts and love and the next, Percy was barreling towards peril - hahaha, whiplash at it's finest! And the best part, was that it was so well-executed that the surprise was totally worth the pay-off! 😅 Zeus' cup-bearer Ganymede responds to the ad, needing help because his chalice of immortality has been stolen and Ganymede needs to recover it before the other gods find out. Percy and his friends investigate Hebe and Iris as potential suspects, and are forced to work around Percy's school schedule. Although both are cleared of any wrongdoing, in exchange for the three cleansing her magical staff, Iris uncovers the true culprit as Geras, the god of old age, and helps Percy, Annabeth and Grover to locate him. Percy challenges Geras to a wrestling match to the death, but ultimately wins by embracing Geras and in effect, old age and everything that comes with mortality, winning Geras' respect and the return of the chalice.Nope. Middle grade sensibility is where I live, friends. Yes, Percy is older, and so his situation is not the same as when he was twelve. He sounds a bit older in this book. He is thinking about his life in college and beyond. But the tone is still the same, and the content is no more risqué than in the original series. I want the books to continue being suitable for middle grade readers, though readers of all ages are welcome! Let's not forget that the reason Percy wants to get into New Rome University is because he loves Annabeth and wants to go to college with her. This man is willing to be trolled by the gods over and over just to be with her. (No wonder middle school me made such high standards.) This part had me actually screaming: Other series, like the Kane Chronicles, Trials of Apollo, and Magnus Chase, don’t feature Percy at all. These books, however, are set in the same world. This means that names and places will be familiar. For example, if you go in a VIP server and wait 4 hours without someone collecting all Chests, One random 4 hour old chest will have the God's Chalice.

Chalice is meant to be a standalone for now. It was originally one of three ideas I had for Percy’s senior year adventures, so it’s possible I could write the other two at some point in the future. That really depends on what my schedule ends up looking like in the next few years. As you probably know, the film and TV adaptations have been consuming a great deal of my time over the last two years. The stakes are not high at all in this book but the fun is still there. There is no imminent danger to the world but maybe to Percy's college applications there is. We see the OG trio unite and it's like they were never apart. Grover, Annabeth and Percy make anything fun. Some of the things they mentioned were clearly meant for nostalgic purposes (I wish they would've included the dam joke). And I loved all the little nods to the past events - very simple, very distinctive, but very much of import to Percy's current journey. I appreciated that the Greek gods included this time around were of limited capacity, but even the trip to Zeus was fabulously done! Each of their adventures were written with great zeal and I really did have a smile on my face as they made their way through the tough waters to get to the ultimate prize. 🏆🏆 And while it is targeted for younger audiences, there is something very nostalgic to this installment. You'll see it with each self-reflection that Percy is enlightened with - that moment that deeply resonates with what is his purpose in life - other than the debt he owes for existing - for being a child of one of the Big Three.' 😔Are you kidding?” He grinned at Annabeth. “A chance to do quests, just the three of us? Like old times? The Three Musketeers!” Whatever else you take from this post, we should be able to agree that bullying and harassing a child online is inexcusably wrong. As strong as Leah is, as much as we have discussed the potential for this kind of reaction and the intense pressure this role will bring, the negative comments she has received online are out of line. They need to stop. Now." The first task is to help Ganymede, Zeus’s cupbearer, retrieve his golden goblet before it falls into the wrong hands. You see, one sip from it can turn a mortal into a god, and Zeus would not be pleased with that result. Can Percy and his friends Grover and Annabeth find the precious cup in time? And if they do, will they be able to resist its special power? Despite being a minor god, Ganymede appears to be unaffected as well, but Percy had also intentionally revealed his presence to the god, possibly negating the cap's effects despite Percy still wearing it.

This book is dedicated to Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri, and Leah Sava Jeffries, the stars of the Disney+ series. Annabeth's Yankees Cap is revealed to give the wearer an uncomfortable sensation while it's being used which Percy suspects is the reason that Annabeth doesn't use it too much. Annabeth tells Percy that this is because all power has a price, even invisibility. The cap's effects are also shown to be limited for the first time, only making Percy invisible to spirits and minor gods, but at best looking unimportant to the major gods such as the Olympians. He's a golden drachma if I've ever known one. I can't wait to see where his next search for a college letter will take him. We haven’t nailed down any details, but probably, yes. As I said, the book is meant to be a ‘thank you’ to fans and a celebration of the TV series, so we are timing Chalice to come out shortly before the series airs. (But again, exactly when the series airs has not been determined yet. Stay tuned for that.) When I know more details, I will post them here on my blog!

Before you have the chalice, it is recommended to collect 10 Conjured Cocoas ahead of time, to make it easier to obtain the Sweet Chalice. This means Mount Olympus is virtually unguarded, so Percy and an army of young demigods must stop the Lord of Time. All the while, the long-awaited prophecy surrounding Percy’s sixteenth birthday unfolds. First up: the cupbearer of the gods, Ganymede, is missing his golden chalice. Not only is this embarrassing (why do the gods keep losing their magical items?), it's also potentially disastrous. One sip from the cup will turn any mortal into a powerful god. And the old gods do not take kindly to newbies. In The Lightning Thief, Percy bitterly thinks that his father should be able to just make a phone appear to call him. In this book, Poseidon does in fact call Percy on a mortal landline and Percy suspects that Poseidon plugged his phone straight into the undersea transatlantic cable which gives Poseidon very good reception.
