About this deal

Currently I have an ethereal, ten fire warriors, 3 crisis, plus a unit of stealth suits and pathfinders. Crisis suits are followed by five shield drones and equipped with 9 fusion blasters total. This is hopefully a complete formation that you can play right out of the box (once it’s assembled). It contains the following: Allies and enemies alike know the forces of the T'au all over the galaxy. Their advanced technology and tactics allow them to bring people into their cause with little resistance. Now you can command this brutal army in your games of Warhammer 40,000! This starter set includes everything you need to start a T'au Empire army in 40k. Set contains an Ethereal on Hover Drone, three XV8 Crisis Battlesuits and a ten-man Fire Warriors squadron with 2 Drones and a DS8 Support Turret. The Start Collecting! sets from Games Workshop are the best way to learn the games of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000. The great value boxes include everything you need to start playing, with a good amount of models and the rules easy to find online. What's more, they even sometimes contain exclusive sculpts that you can use on the tabletop! What’s more, while their clean aesthetic and apparently progressive ‘ Greater Good’ philosophy can sometimes seem like something beamed in from a different universe, lore hounds can still find a healthy dose of grimdark lurking beneath the T’au’s shiny, armoured shells.

We use DHL for our main courier. The delivery guide for this is next working day to 2 working days. The longer period is for areas such as the Highlands and Islands of the UK. Contents: 1 Tech-priest Dominus (HQ), 10 Skitarii Vanguard/Rangers (Troops), 1 Onager Dunecrawler (Heavy Support) That’s it for the 40,000 sets, we’ll start the Age of Sigmar stuff soon. Happy Gaming, Happy Holidays Game Fans This is another strange box as GW made it so you would almost need another Start Collecting to reap the full value from the box. The Orks box has the dubious honour of being the only Start Collecting without a legal HQ choice in it, thanks to force organisational changes in 8th edition. The contents aren’t terrible however and if you’re building an Ork horde you’re going to need savings wherever you can get them. Nobz may not be an especially optimal unit for Orks right now, but it’s an extraordinarily characterful kit full of useful bitz.

T’au armies are flexible, fast, and have a focus on heavy mechs and laying down devastating fire power. In the hands of a commander able to build synergies between units and take advantage of the unique defensive measures available (especially their unique Drone units), T’au can easily be one of the most powerful armies on the tabletop. Just give those psykers a wide berth until you’re ready to take them on, OK? During a particularly terrible siege at the city of Fio’taun, the Ethereals revealed themselves. Two T’au figures were seen walking through the besieging armies and into the fortress, their authority undeniable to warriors on either side. These Ethereals spoke of a Greater Good, of all T’au being united, and of unity. Within a few short hours the siege had been lifted, the fortress gates were open, and a new age of T’au ascendancy had begun. Contents: 1 Farseer (HQ), 5 Wraithguard/Wraithblades (Elites), 1 Wraithlord (Heavy Support), 1 War Walker (Heavy Support) GW dropped word that prices on some of their products would be going up after February 4th, 2018. With that said, the new prices increased by around 7% on average. So Start Collecting’s still aren’t a bad option in general, but the margins on value are indeed smaller.

The Start Collecting set includes a formation that uses all of the component parts as a single battlegroup so you can play with it out of the box. The set contains: With the Ethereals firmly in charge, the T’au became truly united and their technological progress leapt forward, propelling them into the heavens. Protected by their army – known as the Fire Caste– settlers began to take over systems and assimilate other species under the banner of the Empire, in successive ‘spheres of expansion’. Now, in the 41st millennium, the T’au are continuing their expansion drives, using their superior technology to force-multiply their relatively small armies in skirmishes with the Imperium, Orks, and Tyranids. Their Empire has become diverse, welcoming many humans and other species into the fold, accepting any who willingly pledge themselves to the Greater Good. One of the nice things about Militarum Tempestus being 4 units in 3 kits is that you get all of them right here in this box. Like the generic Militarum set this comes with the plastic Commissar (a bit like Tech-priests Dominus in Ad Mech, if you have any interest in buying Tempestus at all you will end up drowning in these guys), but also two squads of Scions and a Taurox. Squads of Scions and Tauroxes are pretty much all there is to have for the Tempestus, and the Scion kit is a dual one which lets you build the Tempestor Prime and a Command Squad too, and is full of cool bits. If you want to get some Scions on the table there’s basically no better way to do it than this – turn the Commissars into terrain statues or convert them into other things. The old version of this with the Kabals stuff in felt a lot better than this one does. That said, you can at least get somewhere with this – all of Succubi, Wyches, and Venoms are good units you’ll want for a budding Drukhari army, and Reavers are OK I guess. What would have been really nice is if instead of replacing the old box, we got something like the Daemons of X boxes for Kabals, Covens, and Wych Cults, but alas. There is one flaw in the T’au’s armour, however: they have no psykers among their ranks. This means they’re not only unable to manipulate the Warp on the battlefield, but also have no astropaths – severely limiting their ability to move using faster than light travel. Given the species’ vigour and strength of will, being thrashed by servants of the Emperor of Mankinddidn’t leave the T’au particularly disheartened. Instead, the Ethereals set their Empire on an accelerated course for technological advancement, rapid expansion, and massive rearmament.

The Nurgle box is pretty good value. If you’re collecting Nurgle Daemons you want Plaguebearers and Nurglings en masse, and at least one Poxbringer too. If you’re going to buy those things, you might as well buy this box, and basically get the Plague Drones for free. A very respectable set which gives you pretty much what you want to get going with the faction – perfect. As a Starting Thousand Sons player, you want all of these models in your army, and the savings on this box are pretty great. One of these is a fantastic near must-buy for someone who wants to start their own Thousand sons army. The big downside is that because Ahriman is a named character, you don’t really want more than one of these. Though the box savings more than offset Ahriman’s cost, and if you can convert your second copy of him into a regular sorcerer, it’s worth it to buy two so you can make a battalion, and of course there’s the fringe use of having one version of him on foot and another on the disk. T’au armies work best when working as a cohesive whole. Models such as the Darkstrider can mark priority targets, giving nearby units a buff when shooting at an enemy. Another example of T’au synergy is their crucial Markerlight mechanic, a buff that allows any unit with the Markerlight keyword to pop tokens on an enemy at the start of the Movement Phase. This box is a weird one as it only comes with half the amount of units with normal boxes…You’d really need two of these boxes to reap full value.
