Antimicrobial activity of holy basil extract was evaluated by various authors. Aqueous extract of holy basil showed growth inhibition for Klesbiella, Escherecia coli, Proteus and Staphylococcus aureus while alcoholic extract showed growth inhibition for Vibrio cholerae.
