About this deal

Incidentally TomTom support is abysmal to the point of non-existence, so I know from experience with my Avtex TV just how helpful that company is. As I said above "The Avtex device is a derivative of Garmin’s Camper 780 MT-D with Caravan & Motorhome Club data added”.

The other way I have done it is, tap the Speed button on the screen and tap and hold the speedometer on the screen that appears. This will (eventually) open a developers menu that will let you reset the device to same factory defaults but there's also a number of other configuration settings in there. As I said, not sure if the works with the models above but maybe worth a try before disposing and getting a new one! Enhanced specific routing for Caravans & Motorhomes – customised routes created for the size and weight of your caravan or motorhome. For instance, there’s custom routing, as well as warnings of any approaching obstacles, such as steep grades or sharp curves – it can even advise you about any Environmental Zones on your journey. The best motorhome sat-nav should take the stress out of your journey, giving you the reassurance that you and your ‘van will safely reach your destination – and that’s where New Easily plan arrival to your desired destination using BirdsEye Satellite Imagery to show you where to go

Access additional information via your smartphone using the Garmin Drive App and be supplied with real-time services including weather updates, live safety cameras, live traffic cameras (where available) and more. Traffic updates can also be retrieved live via the Garmin Drive App. If buyer of an Avrex Tourer Two sat-nav had no interest in the ‘smartphone features’ mentioned above, the device would still operate perfectly well without the buyer having a smartphone. If not paired with a smartphone, does it still offer traffic alerts and alternative route suggestions? but the possibility of displaying a reversing-camera image on the device does not seem to be mentioned. Avtex Tourer Two can be paired with your smartphone to make and receive calls safely and legally while driving.

The Tourer Three can even suggest places of interest along your route that you may want to visit. There’s even high-definition Birdseye satellite imagery of your destination to assist you to pitch up. When you sync your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone to the Avtex Tourer 3, you get great features that let you stay connected without taking your hands off the wheel³. Make hands-free phone calls, and receive smart notifications on your navigator’s display4. That means you can see incoming calls, text messages and calendar reminders without having to reach for your phone. It also offers the convenience of voice-activated navigation. Say “voice command,” and then simply command your navigator with your voice while your hands never have to leave the steering wheel. Designed hand-in-hand with Garmin, the Tourer Three is the last word in motorhome and caravan satellite navigation. Tourer Three pushes the familiar functions of the Avtex Tourer Two even further, so you will haveeverything you needfortouring around the UK and Europe without a hitch.

https://www.capitaloutdoors.co.uk/products/avtex-tourer-two?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIk52miPTE6QIVTOztCh0I3gDTEAAYASAAEgLUQPD_BwE The Avtex Tourer Two is designed to simplify navigation with motorhomes, caravans and campers. It comes preloaded with detailed maps of 45 European countries, with free lifetime map updates, including information on road restrictions, such as bridge heights. Just input the specs of your motorhome or caravan, then Avtex Tourer Two will use your camper profile to find the most efficient route across the UK and Europe. Your route will be determined based on the height, weight, length and width of your vehicle. states that the Garmin BC 30 camera is compatible with their Tourer One and Camper 660 Premium sat-navs and I’m guessing the BC 30 would also be compatible with the Tourer Two. The BC 30 camera was discussed here last month On the last point, the TomTom does this well but does have a limit on the (.ov2) file size For example Archie's Europe is too large at over 2Mb and has to be split up. I know the Avtex unit comes with pre-loaded POIs, but I would definitely want to load my own stuff.

The Avtex device is a derivative of Garmin’s Camper 780 MT-D with Caravan & Motorhome Club data added.) I have completely lost faith in the device but I have been told that I cannot return it as it has been used - again it is totally wrong as it does not perform as the advertisements claim it should. The Avtex Tourer Three Plus includes a dash cam for recording events in the road ahead. The built-in dash cam records at 1080p HD and up to 30FPS (Frames Per Second) with a 140 degrees (diagonal) field of view. Optional GPS overlay records GPS location, speed, date, and time. This is useful information as it provides recorded evidence of where and when an incident occurred. Furthermore, incident detection (G-sensor) automatically saves footage on impact. You can also manually save footage with touch of a button. KEY FEATURESIf you are happy with your present camera’s performance and you want to use it while travelling as well as when reversing, the best option would probably be to connect that camera’s cable to a suitable dedicated monitor on the dashboard. For example Active Lane Guidance (ALG) uses voice prompts and brightly coloured arrows to indicate the correct lane for your route, and moves along with you to make sure you're in the right place at the right time, without any last-minute lane-swapping panic. So I'm well impressed and would thoroughly recommend this unit, but of course you do need a suitable smartphone with google maps loaded, not really a problem nowadays.
